I went to install the banjo, needle valve, gauge etc last night. Everything was going ok......then I lost one of the compression sleeves
Not having another on hand, I was going to just close the needle valve all the way and see if it held.
I gave the piston pump a push or two (didn't even turn the motor over) and fuel started coming out of the outlet side of the needle valve....at a fast drip. I had the fuel line loosely attached at the needle valve (just hadn't bothered to remove it as i didn't think the needle valve would leak when closed), and the line securely fastened on the gauge side. Fuel dribbled out of the gauge side to........at literally atmospheric pressure.
I used the thread sealant per permatex, and snugged ( 4 or 5 ft lbs) all the fittings. Anyone have a gander as to what I did wrong?
The needle valve is one of the cheaper ones....
