twins with ht3b good or bad idea.

I have a chance to pick up a ht3b for cheap. My truck is a 89 2wd auto street driven no towing looking to go drag racing more then anything. Already has 60mm gds upgrade with 12cm gated housing, 5x14 injectors, 3800 spring, and holley blue pump.

Is the ht3b any good for go fast power. I have found a few on here using them for towing but not drag racing.

I just retired my HT3B after seven or eight years of beating the crap out of it. For me, it's been good for 489HP (to the ground/12mm VE fueled) with an S362. Took the 6400lb heap for a 12.67 ride in the quarter.

While the HT3B is dinosaur technology, it's boat-anchor tough.

If you don't mind me asking what injectors was you running. Also was you the one that was running the duel feed pump with high pressure directly into the h&r.

At the time, I was running some Scheid 6x.016" EDM. I've since replaced them with something a little larger.

No dual-feed stuff here. I do remember someone running a power-steering pump directly to the H/R. It didn't end well as I recall.

If you're building your own kit, and it is priced right... go for it. I have a friend who has an old pdr kit, which is exactly what you'd have with that 60 upgrade and 3b. It does...ok. It is very slow to spool compared to the newer turbos. The S472 flows more air, while spooling a lot faster.

I agree with this statement. Mine has been tough as nails under a HX35-14. High 400's/low 500hp range.
