When you're done with it, clamp it in the vise and give it a hard turn.
Then give it to the Mac tool guy and he'll give you a new regular one. :shock:

if dude was sandblasting why didnt he just put some duct tape over the holes?

and i have turned plenty a tap into a bottom tap with nothin more than a bench grinder. you really have had problems with the tap fallin apart on you while doin that? i know they are brittle but have never had that happen....yet

far as studs and how high they end up it tells ya in the instructions what the max ht dim is and that you may have to turn the block down a little to recess the studs for proper clearance. machining the stands has nothing to do with how tall the studs are - that is for where the nut/washer end up
