i installed the 366 spring in my truck sunday. when i un-did the throttle lever on top of the pump, it jumped up and off before i had a chance to check the tick marks. after the spring swap (interesting to say the least). i turned the shaft about where i thought it should be and cranked the truck. moved it around till i got an idle and stuck the lever over it. well, i apparently got it one tooth off, cause on order to lower the idle to 700-800 i had to back the idle screw almost all the way out (only about 2 threads sticking out on the lever side). idles fine, runs like a wildcat.
now my question. will having it one tooth off damage anything or allow throttle to stick (over center?). it runs fine. i can take the linkage back of without much problem, but if it aint gonna cause any damage, it'll stay where it is.
thanks in advance
daryl
PS.. i replaced the stock worn throttle bushings (back on the pivot where the cable hooks) with mopar part#4425053 list $1.95 ea. you wouldn't believe the difference in throttle feel. highly recomment this cheap repair for high mileage trucks
