Crossover steering is going to be your best bet with a lifted truck, it will net you better handling and steering, it will be plenty strong enough, barring you aren't running 40's or something huge/heavy like that, then you would need a hydraulic assist system like from PSC or something of the sort. ;)

Sounds like you might need some front end work first. I've always run stock style steering with a dual steering stabilizer with 35's and up to 44's with very little wandering, but all of your steering and suspension parts have to be in good shape.

My niece has a '87 W150 with 33's and it's horrible to drive. It's all you can do to keep it in your lane, but everything under the front is wore out and she doesn't want to buy the parts for me to fix it.

Truth^. I'm running 35x12.5x16 on mine with 4 inch lift. Doesn't wander too Mich but I also need a right front tie rod end and an alignment. After that ill bet it wont wander at all.
