I threw the drivve shaft in my 96 one time and put about a two or three in split in the tank. I took one of those wood burning, sodering irons and the ring you pull off a 5 gal bucket to get the lid off and melted it back together. It hasn't leaked for at least two years now.

16 year olds getting nailed?
Sounds like whole lot of "too-doo" about NOTHING.
Thanksgiving is just another day around here, like "Christmas" and Easter, nothing special to me.

Andy, if the OTHER bolt had lost it's nut, instead of the one that did, you wouldn't be patching a tank!
Isn't that just the way things go, when things just SUCK?

Its not leaking but it wore it thin. The pars that sucks is the bolt threads into the carrier and threads are goofed. I got it snugged and will just tack weld it onto the bracket when i get out to my folks. Ill pic up some quicksteel to fix the tank.

I know a guy that lives in S Glens Falls, and he didn't invite me, I'm pissed! Parents weren't very smart about that were they?

As for the bad fuel, I saw some today. I was rearranging the shed this morning to get the kids go carts and mowers inside, and my crawler wouldn't start. I just hooked on a chain and pulled it outside. When I looked at the sediment bowl it had about a 1/2" of dark goo in the bottom. It reminded me of the byproduct from my buddies biodiesel. I shook the tank and more dropped down thru, like a lava lamp (for those that are old enough to know what that is ;) ) I drained the carb, added fresh fuel to the gas (starting) tank, and it fired right up. After I got it back inside I shut the fuel off and let it run 'til it quit. Now I have to drain the tank and flush it out. Just another project for me! :(

Well, I don't have a petcock on the bottom of my tank and I'm dealing with EFI, not an updraft carb, so my deal is a bit worse. I'd straight up trade you fuel problems

Caleb, screw that idea! :P I bet if I had switched it over to the main tank it would have run on that crap. These old Deeres were made to run on low cost fuels like distillate, fuel oil, diesel, etc. I just couldn't get it to start on the siht.

Yea they'll burn it all. I siphoned all that I could out of both of those Ford's tanks, poured about 7 gallons in it, fired it up and drove it up the road. All 5 gears work, but after it gets warm it idles at about 3000 rpm. Ideas? I haven't spent any quality time with the manual yet.

I spent my day knifing in manure. Now tell me that you have a crappy job  I like it though

Yeah, you're young, this day and age if someone your age does what you're doing, they go all "Obama Supporter" on you.

Yup BTDT. We sell straw to a trucker out of VA. He takes a load of feeder calves to Iowa, stops here, and we send him back with ~550 bales of straw. He usually gets the trailer sprayed out. Usually

Those bales ought to be good and green on the bottom, if those calves came straight off of the pasture! They make one hell of a mess in a clean trailer. Outside of it too! Doesn't wash off very well, without some steam when it is dried on. Who knows, I've probably met the guy. Have hauled a lot of feeders out of VA and WV. :D

His name's Roy out of Floyd, VA. Older guy, drives a red KW. You'd remember him. He's hilarious and a really nice guy.

So i watched a guy get his arm broke today. He had been having problems with his power steering in his truck. I got over there and they had it all ready to fire up. He stuck his arm threw the steering wheel and hut the key. It fired up and wheel went right and truck pump screamed blowing the hoses off. It broke both bones in his forearm sticking the big one threw the skin.

I think I have talked to him, and mentioned the hay deal. :) Been a few years though. Been close to Floyd quite a bit this year.
