upgrades for 2wd front suspsension??

Postby 12vsuburban » Tue Dec 25, 2012 3:31 pm

Hey Guys, I'm about to take ownership of a '92 d350 2wd. He said he has replaced parts here and there but is pulling a bit now again. I know these 1st gens have weak underpinnings in the beginning Cummins years. Are there any upgrades or maybe recommendations on manufacturer that might have upped the quality for our known issue?
I dont mind fixing stuff, I just hate doing it twice...;)....Hans

I use MOOG parts and have had good success. Just remember the upper balljoints screw in they dont press in.

There is the Moog severe duty coils. They give lift, but ride pretty hard. Would be perfect with a heavy wrecker bumper.

I put the 7226s in my truck, after about a year and a half it settled down an inch or so and rides nicer than it did when new.

pete, does it sit up higher that stock now? i put some heavier springs that i got from andy in mine. it raised it up nice, but the one side still sags down some. i should have put new rubber thingy bobs in when i put the springs in

Chris, I really don't know. I can't remember how high it was when it was new. That was 20 years ago! I could go out and measure it if you want.
I reused my old rubber seats, and didn't get the shim either. The shim was a service update part for the left side. It raised it up some to offset the fuel tank and drivers weight on that side.
