Also, I'm slapping the steering stops on the C's waaaaaay before I hit the internal box stops now. I've got to clean off all the crap and grease off my u-joints and see where they actually start making contact. Gonna see how sharp I can get it to turn.

Aren't the 2wd and 4wd steering arms the same? I've never seen Borgeson offer one specific.

If they do, no issues there. But that would be new to me.

From the pic......is your shaft too short now?

I dunno, I know I couldn't get the tierod end through the 2wd arm very easily. It went through the new 4wd arm easily, I was able to shove it through clear to the taper, I couldn't even get all the threads through the old 2wd arm.

My steering shaft is too long now, the 2wd position rotates it counterclockwise in the pic, it's probably 1 1/2" too long now.

Dunno what wild shaft they've got designed to work on either a 2wd or 4wd but I had to cut 3.5" out of mine to get it to work. Works like a charm though, so scratch the Borgenson, RC. Maybe some injector work or something when I finally get this blower sorted. ;)

The steering is super-tight now, I'm still working some air out of the system so I can't comment on it completely yet, but it's definitely upped my steering effort some. I'd say I lost at least 1/2 turn lock-to-lock on the wheel, so that probably explains it. Still pulls left some, but I'm guessing that's a tie rod adjustment issue...

Now to start the airbag mounts.

The borgeson shaft is telescopes a long ways. It's really short fully collapsed. Glad you fixed it up yourself.

When I changed the steering box on my truck, I put it together and I only had manual steering. I got pissed and let it sit overnight. Then it worked fine. Im guessing the air bled itself out while I was busy stewing over how to set my truck on fire. The first and only time my truck has ever fixed itself...

Maybe this is an older version or something but my Borgenson doesn't telescope at all. It's got a flat spot built into the splined portion that a roll pin sits in. On the shaft the flat section is elongated about 1.5", but like I said I had to take 3.5" out of it to get the roll pin to sit in the middle of the flat part.

Rumble, I've always picked both front wheels off the ground and slowly cycled the steering side to side to its stops. I was getting a bunch of really tiny bubbles after about 15 of them so I just let it down and hit the road. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat!

It's pretty cool, I'm nowhere near the internal stops of the box, so I'm going to play around with the stop screws and see how sharp it turns before the u-joints bind.

You called it, Rumble, I went outside this morning and didn't notice a single hard spot in the steering as I was leaving. It's taking some getting used to, since it doesn't seem a lot different but it actually is, but I'm diggin' it... Kinda.

Turns out, combining the blower with non-scary steering causes scary driving. It was raining like crazy and I was cruising along a road I used to drive everyday. Came around one of the corners and felt the rear end just let go out from under me. No cars coming, and I kept it mostly in my lane and walked it out just for fun, but it had never done that before so I had no idea what was going on.

I glanced up at my speedo and I was doing 60. This was a 45mph road before, I had no idea I was going that fast, I almost sthi pants.

Dat lock. 8)

I pulled the steering stops to see what she'd do, way past u-joint bind to the right and just past it to the left. Gonna adjust stops to just before them and enjoy.

Pfffft, I could parallel park a school bus. :P

Oddly enough, I have barely any threads still out on my driver's side knuckle but the passenger side has almost all of them. Pretty much equal turning angle, I'm not sure what the deal is. ;?
