Lift pump question

Postby Nitrous05 » Wed Sep 04, 2013 6:57 am

I need to put a lift pump on my 90. The factory one is dead and right now it has an electric one on it. My question is what is one of the better factory style pumps to use? Without spending $100. I also run waste oil for fuel so it's a little heavier, not sure what pump would be the best for that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Your not going to find a good lift pump for under $100 these days.

Nope. Not unless you buy a used piston pump, high or low psi.

A lot of the electric ones don't hold up all that well on the waste veggie oil.

I'd stay mechanical......which leaves you with stock or the piston lift pumps. The only "factory" piston pump under $100 is the high pressure pumps found on the 2nd gen trucks.....

If you pieced EVERYTHING together and used an el cheapo fuel regulator.....you MIGHT get away for about 150.

Otherwise the "bolt on kits" run in the $265+ range for piston pumps.

Not to hijack, but where are you getting your WVO and what kind of MPG's are you getting when running it?
