Alrighty, folks I've got a timing question for you. My truck is currently at bumped timing. To the head, more or less. I'm looking into advancing it a good bit more, but as of right now my injectors are spraying right to the edges of my bowls.
First of all, is there any fears in spraying outside the bowl besides washing down the cylinder walls and/or melting the edges of the bowls? I'm not worried about getting it hot enough to melt anything as my EGT's barely tick the edge of my 1500* gauge now with no IC. I'll have it all together and functioning by the time I bump this thing.
I'm planning a 2-tooth jump, then pulling the pump back to the beginning of the slots. Any chance of this amount being enough to get fuel on the walls? I doubt it, since my injectors aren't that huge and I don't consider it a huge jump, but if you know better please let me know.
Thoughts on this being too much timing for a DD? I can spool my HX52 very quickly now with the blower, so I'd like to take advantage of it with a bump to help clear up smoke.
I'd also like to note that without the blower my truck hazes like a beast at idle. I had just kind of forgot about it since it had been on there for so long, but I started it the other morning and was tying some stuff down in the bed and thought a fog had rolled in. Until it started burning my nose.
