I wish I could find a cheap set of H2 wheels.

No such thing! They are all over priced. ;) Taco needs a set of hubcaps to hide the ugly bits.

Nope.

It's just the very bottom rail of the frame that's weak, right where that tank strap bolts. Must have been some salt that layed there or something, but the rest of it is solid. I'll just run it, these springs pushed the shackle up past it so I can just look right at it. If it gets worse I'll spray some paint on it and ignore it some more. 8)

There's a set on pirate now for like $200, Dazed. Hubcaps and all, but I saw it a few days ago. I think they were even in Ohio somewhere.

She rides nice, no need to pull any leaves IMO. Aaaaaaaand, I gave it a nice ripping on the way home and didn't hear the ujoint bind one time. :D

The belts are squealing almost nonstop now, I blasted the blower drive pulley but that didn't stop it. Damn. :yuck:

She sits just like before, I don't think it moved at all. Wheels centered up nicely, and everything stayed aligned.

Nitto Terra Grapplers. They're nice tires, ride nice, wear great, I threw them on these wheels with no balancing, and they don't vibrate at all.

They look like a good candidate for a tire that I could sipe heavily and just maybe have a good winter tire. M/T tires BLOW in the winter.

Is there anything more depressing than putting a leak tester on your intake? I can't think of anything...

Not like they matter, they're drops in the bucket compared to that damn throttle body. It's dumping past the butterfly and through the shaft seals. Bleh, I have no idea how to get that butterfly to seal, but that's a huge leak. I couldn't get shop air to go above 4psi through a 3/8" hose...

Giant post I copied from Jungle's forum over on RCC. If you're interested in the specifics of making a 56" leaf swap work with his stuff.

"I pulled the springs and shackles off my RC frame to replace the ones on my truck. I turned it up enough that it was wasting the blocks/springs I had on there. I'm gonna go ahead and say the frames of the pickups and RCs must be hella different.

I started by hacking off the whole passenger leaf and hangars from the frame. I bolted up the rear drill pattern and drilled of the new holes, bolted up the rear hangar, and pretty much pulled the rear driveshaft in two trying to get the leaf to sit on the axle right.

You can see here how much I had to bring the rear hangar forward in this pic, the holes are drilled where the template said they should be it's almost a the full width of the shackle forward. It's obviously not Jungle's fault, since this wasn't the frame his kit was made for, I just found it odd how different these frames are that I thought were so similar.

You can see that one of the holes from the drill pattern almost lines up, I used it to locate the rear hangar in the same place on each side.
Image

I'll get some more detailed pics of the forward mounts tomorrow, I only had to cut off one of the bed mounts, do some messing around with the ebrake cable mount, and notch the crossmember towards the front of the bed. Nothing too structural.

Image
Still sits right even of my old rear leaf setup, which was a mixup of my 3/4 ton pack, an RC pack, and the stock 3" block, with my own hacked up shackle flip.

Image

My ghetto spring pack.
Image

It's also worth noting that the forward hangar on my truck was nothing like the RC one. No point in even sending the pattern if someone is asking about it, not a single one of the holes lined up."

"Grabbed some pics of where the front hangars ended up.

You can see I just had to buzz the very edge of the crossmember there, I took a little bite out of the rivet head itself to scoot it back a hair more but it probably wasn't necessary.

Image

Image

Here you can see how I hung the parking brake cable bracket. I plan to drill some offset holes in it and just hang it right back where it was. My truck doesn't actually have an e-brake, bit that doesn't mean I want those things hanging all over the place. I didn't use the lower bolts on the hangars, but there's nothing stopping them from being used. I was just tired of drilling 1/2" holes.

Levi....I've an idea on the throttle shaft leak.....what about cutting some oring grooves in it where it meets the bodies bore. That should take care of the leak, but I'd think you'd have to lube the ring well before assembly. On the butterfly, most are stopped from fully closing by a set screw of some sort. Also most have tiny holes in the butterfly that act as bleeds to alow smooth opening (that's a theory anyhow)

I dunno what I'm going to do, there won't be any sealing that damn shaft, I know that. The shaft is a press fit in the inner races, I think it's actually leaking through the rollers/seals of them.

I'm going to focus on getting that plate to seal up, that's my main leak. I'll probably just smother my joints in more JB weld with a better prepped surface, I don't feel like smothering more weld will help anything... Then I'll pull the middlecooler and fix the few leaks there, paint the injection lines, then not open the hood again for a few months.
