I kinda like hydraulics...what are you learning about?

I'm a heavy equipment technician apprentice so for 2 months every year for 4 years I go to school. Some of it isn't really relevant to what I actually do, but whatever. So far we've done safety, electrical, hydraulic brakes, and air brakes. For the last 3 days we've been going over hydraulics itself (so pumps, and controls, and junk like that) our test for it is Tuesday, so I should probably study a bit.

On the note of trading I will decline. I did grade 11 biology and said that was quite enough. I have first aid so I can do some things, but I really have no interest biological things

Yeah, I was an apprentice for a Utility company for aerials and diggers and had to take tests and what not... I touched on hyds. in my 2nd year and then I had enough time in (according to them) to apply for a journeyman spot for a mechanic that opened up and I got offered the job so I took it. a lot of it didn't apply and a lot of it I've forgot lol.....

Any body got a good source for Wisconsin engine parts? Have a mid 70's Hobart welder with a VG4D engine I'd like to convert to LP Gas. Knock on wood the gas system on it hasn't caused any issues, but I fear one day it will, with this ethanol crap they call gas. I'm lucky if it runs once a month, but I want it reliable when I get a service call

Ha! I have yet to see a single guy 30 or younger without kids that was A) broke and B) didn't have cool toys. I am in no rush in life, but I still have priorities.

Damn Craigslist people. Guy suppose to show up at 12 to look at some parts, haven't heard from him. Just texted him to see what's up, running late, etc, says he's north of me, looking at some other stuff, gonna swing by later, figures between 2 and 4. Wtf, you say your gonna be around at noon, better be noon or just after, or have the courtesy to let me know your timeframe has changed.
Some people, now I'm stuck in limbo, my stuff not getting done, waiting

Ahhh good old Craigslist. The land of no-shows and tire kickers. The last time I sold a truck on CL, I think it took 5 years off of my life just due to frustration.

I about strangled a guy with my boot laces after he told me the clutch was bad in my truck and he'd give me $300 for it. The ad said the clutch was bad and I could get more than $300 at the scrap yard.

I swear, I'm generally easy going, but people on Craigslist make my blood boil

Guy finally showed, he was north of me buying more axles. 3 hrs late, and wants me to knock $100 off because the other guy wasn't honest in his ad. Looked right at em, told him he could get the f*** off my property, and the price just went up for wasting my time.

He gave me the price we had agreed upon before I moved 4ft of snow and cut the axle out of the frame.

Anyone here live in Montana?
My brother is in Livingstone MT on his way back to central WA and just broke the rear DS on his 08 4 door long bed 6 speed and needs a new one as soon as possible. The only one the dealership there could find is in Florida, so that would take about forever to get there. PM me or text or call me at 509 378 0758, if you have one or know of anyone that does.

Ask on CompD. I can't think of any regulars form Montana on here.

Edit: Check that. I saw you already did.

Good luck. There's few things I hate more than breaking down far from home.

For the 1st time in 24 years I'm not scraping up dollars to get by. I bought my 1st house in 1990 and then this one so I was paying for both for a while. Then I sold that one and had kids so I was still broke and watching pennies. I paid the house off in October and have a little extra money to get things I've been putting off for a long time. It's nice to not be broke and go out and buy truck parts or what ever if I want to.
Now do I build a garage or get a divorce? Hmmmmm, I'm not sure which I want to spend my money on..........

dazedandconfused wrote:What a day today. I broke the door handle in the Ford first thing this morning, then I snag a downspout on the house with the plow ripping it off. I finally get to work to prep for snow to find a broken spreader on one truck, dead battery in my work truck nothing wanted to cooperate. Get out to dads and fix the door on the truck. I have to pick up a cab tomorrow hopefully and its snowing like hell. Go to pull the trailer out and its froze to the ground with 3 flat tires. We manage to get my brothers GMC stuck, my dump and fun all finallygot the trailer out. I slid over the hill by the barn and we had a hell of a time getting me out of that mess. 6 inches of old snow and ice, 2" of fresh snow bald tires on one side, and street tread on the other 4 just didn't cut it. I'm ready for a shower and the phone to ring the old man needs help plowing.

sounds like I aint the only one who had a bad day.

wife calls at noon, says the outback won't start, I go over cranks but no start, my best 2 min diagnosis is bad fuel pump, $250.00 and 3 days away...nice, then the granddaughter comes over to spend the night so we go out to mess with the cows as usual, "she loves being in the barn with the cows" it's dark and very cold so were throwing some hay down in one of the stalls so they will come in and we can pet them....the dogs go nuts...then I get a snoot full of skunk    nice 1 dog sprayed and it's 13* he is an inside dog.....the rest of the night was scrubbing skunk off the dog...he will never learn, this is the 4th time he has been got.

On second thought if it was his 4th time. I would have shot him.
