So.....I went and bought the wife an 800$ Dell laptop, the one with the titanium skin. I hate it,I hate Windows 8. I do not understand it at all. I was told it was just so simple to operate. I told the best buy guy that I was use to a kindle (what I'm on now) and most phones, all android op systems,he says they were similar :? I'm finding it to be a lie. Irritating

Ha, I am having the same problem. I am waiting on a buddy to finish up his jeep so we can get mine in there and change it out. I would imagine seal replacement would be easier if one pulled the engine on a 5sp 4wd?

I would say no it's still easier pulling trans/tcase to do it than pulling apart some of the front end, and pulling the engine. If you were pulling the engine anyway then sure. Otherwise no.

I'm a little disappointed in myself today. For the first time in many years I cut myself with a nice accidentally. I thought I was better than that, but I guess I'm not

If the only thing you're doing is the rear main seal I think it would be easier/faster to pull the engine. My brother and I took off his hood and had the engine out in less than two hours. It took me about 3.5 hours to pull the trans when I just did mine.

Pulling the engine or trans depends on what else needs to be done. If your rear's out, the front likely isn't far behind. May as well check on the KDP too if its condition is unknown. The front case gasket tends to leak after a few hundred thousand miles. The tappet cover's been known to leak too.

It just boils down to how much time, money, and ambition to do preventative maintenance you have.

I'm not talking to you guys today, you're all bad luck!

The wife had a car given to her today, an '05 Hyundai Sonata, allegedly has a plugged converter. What do you guys know about them? Good, bad, or whatever, I'd like to know before I have to sink a ton of money into it.
I went to put a tie rod into the Breeze so it would pass inspection, and figured I'd put in the new struts I had since august. ( ) Got the tie rod end in and was looking at the strut to figure out how the POS comes out and discovered the spring is broken. That explains why the front end is all sacked out. So I put it back together. I looked for springs before, and they are like hens teeth, nobody sells them, nobody. I looked last night and found a set on a website, $427 to my door. I don't think so!

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I have windows 8 too and don't like it. I've heard windows 8.1 is a lot more like the older versions, but I haven't gotten around to checking it out yet.

Don't know but now I'll check into it tho......this dumb thing here has a separate desktop from the start page, and I can figure out how to add icons from the start page to the desktop,so I don't have to swap from one to the other. It's overly complicated.....like most of the schit vehicles I work on
