This sucks, my weekends shot. Been having some lower back discomfort, nothing unusual, woke up this am, stood up, spasm took me right down to my knees. Can't sit, walk anything. Stuck in bed with a shock unit on, shocking my lower left back. Worse part, units adjustable, setting wise, gf been having fun "accidently" bumping it
Go back in tomorrow for more adjustments, hopefully I can go back to work Mon, third day in 2weeks I had to take night off work cause of this

On another note I'm all done school until next year. Now it's back to work, and making money Monday

can't stress enough to some of you young guys, don't lift really heavy crap, you will be sorry by about 40
then really sorry past 45...I can't wait 2 more years to 50.  thankfully my lower back has calmed
down in the last few years, but boy from about 35-45 I didn't know how it could get any worse and still
work.

Jeff has already heard this story but it's good enough to be told twice.

For the first half of my 525 mile jaunt in the last 24 hours, I want to pick up a transmission down south. Despite telling the guy several days in advance that I'm coming AND calling before I leave home, I arrive and proceed to wait an hour while he drops the transmission out of the truck. I came close to saying fork it and walked off, but the deal was good.

While there I learned that there's some blue 1st gen down there putting down 85x hp on fuel. It was converted to P7100 at one time and then converted back to VE. My response was, and I quote "Seems like a solid number". The smile on my face may have shown my amusement though.

Icing on the cake: all of his "mint/pristine" sheet metal was showing rust. I'm glad I was in the market for a transmission and just scouting for sheet metal.

It was forced on me by a steering wheel shoving me out a back glass but I understand this pain. About one week out of 2 or 3 months I hurt like a mofo. I can get around but almost can't tie my boots. During that week it's poping aleive like skittles and using a tube of iceyhot with scolding hot showers morning and night.
Recently I've resorted to a weight lifting belt to fend off a flare up.....it hasn't worked

Its all I'm my hands. By the end of my shift, I can't hardly hold tools or weld. I try to do all my fab work at the beginning of shift, when my hands are fresh. One of my buddies here just got told by his doctor that he has arthritis...he's 33.

Man that really sucks. I think I'll take your advise. I know I've lifted improperly, and heavier than I should've, and I did notice it once, so I think I'll try to be more careful whenever I'm doing stuff at work. I don't really want to hear that I have arthritis at 33.

I will say I'm a teeny bit drunk right now , and ended up forgetting the one thing I brought to school at the first bar we went to. I got it back now, and I'm going to miss those guys I went to school with. Hopefully many of them are going to do second year at the same time as me

Backs are nothing to screw around with. I wrecked mine in '96, it was flooding at work and a coworker lived in the horse barn there, we tried to pick up the full sized entertainment center while it was loaded. Little did I know the bottom was full of magazines, 3 piles almost 2 feet high. 2 days later I couldn't stand up straight, strained the crap out of it. Now I try to do stretching exercises on a regular basis. If I don't, within a week my back will spaz and I'm popping muscle relaxers to get it to loosen up.

I can't believe Dar hurt himself picking stuff up, he's only about 2 feet off the ground!

Hey man don't make fun of us short guys. We may be close to the ground, but it's proportional so the amount and relative distance is pretty similar

Mines screwed up, went to the chiropractor 4 years ago and he said my back curves and the lower 3 vertebrae are touching and my left hip is an inch or more farther forward than the right. He had me coming in 3 days a week for a month then hit me with a 2500 dollar bill because the insurance wouldn't cover most of it......I stopped going and haven't been back. Its sore 24\7 and some day I can stand but to stubborn to go back.

I know someone who's dating someone that could likely fix some of that. She fixed him recently. He likes the happy endings. Poor guy had strippers for room rates while he was at school, and had a bisexual girl all over him Sunday night

I'm not a big fan of doctors, but 3 years or so ago I met the chiropractor I'm seeing now, great guy, tells you how it is, no b.s. I first went to see him, I could even stand, back was al twisted from rolling big steel I-beams. I left the first day, walking straight up. He doesn't make you come back unless you need to.
Nice thing is, we barter services, I get adjustments when I need them, or like today, a tense unit, and I fix stuff for him when he needs it, usually farm equipment, helped him build outdoor patio things like that
