Is it the little 8 or 900 watt one? Those are 2 stroke, FYI. My father wanted one so I went after work and picked it up for him and wondered why it was so little. I was reading the box and saw why. A guy in the check out line asked If I minded the sound of a chainsaw running all the time. I asked why, and he said they're a little loud.

Yeah the little 900watt one. It is a two stoke and loud. It will work well enough for what I'm going to use it for.....I hope.

Any easy way to check it?

Andy look at face book.....you want to test the red/green tracer wire. It powers up the engine compartment fuses #22,17
Fuse #22 is the fuel heater, glowplug relay, pcm power relay and its diode

#17 warning lamps(diesel) warning chime,trans controll,instrument panel,fuel water,water in fuel switch.

I'd start at the ignition switch and follow it from there.

Here's one for you tractor guys,
Looking at an 1985 John Deere 1050 tractor with loader. Has almost new front tires, really good rears, been well maintained. Guy wad unsure of the hours, but was gonna look at lemme know wed.
The catch is the hydros don't work, they were giving him fits last time he used it, loader was settling, steering getting hard, etc. He didn't use it much since he has other tractors. Year later, it runs, but hydros don't work. Tried to put pressure it it, gravity feed system nothing been working.

Now my question, I'm not partial to brands, just like something that works. He says its a 39 hp tractor, what would the loader capacity be? I would like to be able to pick 1000-1500 with the bucket. I've used JD 401c, Case Construction King, with gas motor, like those size tractors. Hows thus I've rate in size?

Thanks

Just by the specs, the 401c is a much heavier, higher capacity tractor with about twice the horsepower of the 1050.

Reckon when the last time he cleaned the pump strainer/filter thing. I've seen a bunch have those symptoms and it was starving for fluid. Not a good thing to have going on but I've never seen a Deere hurt from it yet.

Yeah, I searched a bit after I got that link. Really just want something big enough to move snow, pick up engines, mow, rototill, possibly a backhoe if I find one.
I've only used the ones mentioned, and grandpas bx series Kubota, while nice, way to small.

Ellis, not sure. He said they had the system apart, checked it over, tried a few things, pressure bleeding, gravity, etc, still nothing. Friend of mine mentioned may gave ice in it, or there's a plugged filter somewhere in line to check. When I'm better and back to work, figure I'd take a day and go check it out.

Most of the elder models have one in the trans case, covered with huge pipe plugs.....two of them,1 on one side of the bottom of the case, and the other straight across from it. Pretty easy to miss it unless you've go a book or someone tells you about it.

Here's a pic of the crew with the stack.

I need to cut it down because I don't like how tall it is. I want it flush with the cab.
