Luckily ford covered the engine under warranty. Otherwise I think it's 10k (I didn't feel like quoting because that was starting to get ridiculous)

Brownie: 80 dodge heavy half. Ghost cummins under the hood, and some sinister plans
The Roo Hunter: 93 w250, lifted, 2 whistle machines, and a bunch of other go fast goodies, uhh..... not there yet
Jaeger: 12 ram 3500. Lifted, exhausted, and fed an excessive quantity of air
The Huntress: 02 Jetta TDI. No muffler, egr, horsepower

That ugly ass Toyota? I wouldn't care if it came factory with the holy grail of engines, I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing.

Now I'm really curious what happened to the PS!
1992 W350 RCLB 5 Speed Locking 3.54s Flatbed completely stock it's whole life (for now) 117K on the clock (In the middle of a frame off restoration)
1992 W350 RCLB Rag Locking 4.10s Flatbed basket case - All the spare parts left from the other W350 & I still have a whole truck left...
1999 RCSB 1500 24v NV5600
2000 VW Jetta TDI

I think the Titan will look better, but they are still 1/2 tons so they're like a family hauler with some extra towing power. I want to test drive one of them just to see how the cummins does in it

If I recall correctly, the Cummins in question is a 5.0L DOHC V6. So you're going to have an engine that has none of the characteristics that we all know and love. It's likely going to have excessive emission equipment on it.

Sounds to me like it's an option that will cost too much, not perform like expected, get marginally better fuel economy, run on a more expensive fuel, and pretty much be a novelty.

But this is from a guy that will likely never buy a new truck in the next two decades.

What's next? International is going to break into the 1/2 ton market by getting a diesel in the Honda Ridgeline? :lol: Puh-lease!

5.0 V8..... it is a completely different engine than the "Cummins" that the world is used to. It may be better, it may suck butt.

All I know.... expect a $50k truck get low 20 for fuel economy, when the world has the technology to get 35 out of it.

Yup 5.0 v8. There is an industrial version that'll use different turbos, and ECM mapping. I think it'd be a neat engine to swap an h1000 pump (inline pump with dynamic timing) and see what kind of mileage you could get

They're just in the testing phase. I think production is expected to begin either late this year, or sometime next year
