It would run for a few before. I think what was happening was the glow plugs were cycling and dragging the batteries down too fast causing it to shut down. I was told if voltage dropped a certain amount the pcm shuts the power to the injectors. Its back up in the 50's so they haven't been cycling as much. They say the lights and all that was going on was tge pcm trying to reset but voltage was too low. I can make it drop voltage enough to kill it. A guy on Ford-truck enthusiast got me the wiring diagram.

I just met the man, the myth, the legend Levi AKA Tacoclaw.

Man, you have to take everything that Andrew Hineman says with a grain of salt

Ha! He had his old lady with him. You know, despite the internet rumors, I'd be surprised if there was 300 pounds between them.

I tried to talk him into a front bumper, but he said if he had a nice bumper, it wouldn't match his fender

NC weather.

Yesterday, a high of 36* with heavy rain (a LOT of freezing rain just west of me). That still wet last night froze with the typical early morning drivers wiping-out.

Today, Sunny, with a current temp of 70*.

Yeah, I'm working on it.

The stupid tent I've been working under has since degraded in the Sun and is no longer there. If you're into HVAC stuff, you've no doubt got a scrap metal pile. Yeah, well, I've been in the throws of sorting it all so as to cash-in. Had to first move all of that to the side so I can get the truck on that platform.

In the past, I've had the truck sit on 8x8x12 cribbing stacked double-high. It's always worried me the danged thing was gonna roll off while under it. Got something for that crap now.

Nah, the danged rear crankshaft seal has cashed-in. Maneuvering the heap into position on the work platform has a puddle about 4" form before the dripping slows. :(

BC how much higher does that put the truck than just sitting on the ground? I'm wondering how high I should lift mine up when I pull my trans (hopefully) next weekend. Higher would be easier for working but I can only go so high before my trans jack won't reach anymore. I'd go do some measuring and math but its sprinkling a little outside and I don't like to be in the rain any more than necessary.

I remember that now.

In all the transmissions I've done, I like to have the truck sitting low enough that I have to jack up the truck to slide it out. That way, sitting on the ground most everything is eye level. Additionally, if you're worried about it falling it only goes a few inches. Some people swear by doing them on a lift, but that'd make me all sorts of nervous.
