So I'll be dropping my driveshaft pieces off tomorow to get the new shaft made. I bandaged my u-joint to hopefully buy me a few days. The ford is rusting quietly in the driveway.

One of my coworkers truck (2001 f250 7.3) has been blowing a little white/blue smoke lately so I told him to pull the downpipe and check for oil. He inspected the turbo and the compressor had almost an INCH of front to back movement!! It ran perfectly except for the smoke, I can't believe that thing never came apart on him.

I don't know about the other northern people here, but the roads here in western ny are pretty much toast. They had cones set up on main street blocking some pot holes that were literally a foot deep. I caught one a week ago that broke a rear leaf in my jeep. I've fixed two trucks in the last week because of them. One bent a shock so bad it was stuck in holding the right rear suspension down. The other truck had a broken front coil. It's bad. The semis have been getting flats from chunks of asphalt stuck between the duals.

They pretty much stopped ALL road maintenance in north Idaho.... only to spend bagillions of dollars to build some north/south freeway and a few bridges that didn't need it.

The frost push up that happens on the road... all of our roads feel like driving on a dirt road.

Got all the transmission stuff bolted on the RC. I found my first bolt hole that didn't line up on the thing, the passenger side crossmember bolt sits about 1.5" inside of the one used on the gasser setup. I'll drill it later.

I threw the inner fenders on it so I could bolt on the battery tray and get it ready to fire. I need to put some fuel in the tank and just give it a shot. I ordered 1410 yokes with u-bolts instead of straps for both axles, I'll probably do the same for the old Dodge once I'm sure they work. I've got an extra front driveshaft so I'll have 1410 yokes but on both while I have the rear DS made as well.

I always hated the straps anyway, but after this most recent trip, they're gone.

Jaeger decided it wants a service now, so I'm guessing fuel filter, and other things. Now what are those other things?

Our roads aren't too terrible. Around this time the cracks across the highway get big gaps in them so it's rough.

The more highly travelled roads are more or less toast here. I'm kind of glad I have a D-model with some facsimile of ride quality, as opposed to getting air under the front tires of a W-model. We don't have the bad pot holes mainly because the highway department is out every day filling them in it seems.

Good ol Ms' Roads suck in general. Most interstates are decent but County maintained Roads are a freakin joke. What they normally is a tar bottom with a limestone topping, like a freakin cake, ridiculous! They throw that junk down and you,the tax payer, have to deal with busted windshields and rock chips/dings in the body. To top it off that surface only last for a few years before it ruts out and bust apart, when it rans you end you with two little streams to ski on. Bullschit
I told my beat supervisor that the next time that crap is thrown down in the rocky creek community (where I live) I was taking a 5 gallon bucket of that schit and throwing it in his yard. That way his lawnmower could chunk it in the windows of his home.

Honestly it's shear stupidity to cover a roadway in that stuff with the price it commands, plus the short lived life or use it gives. I'd have to say that asphalt would be the better option.....then again that stuff is only as good as the folks applying it so I'm sure they'd screw that up too :)

The IRS decides to audit Grandpa, and summons him to the IRS office.

The IRS auditor was not surprised when Grandpa showed up with his attorney.

The auditor said,'Well, sir, you have an extravagant lifestyle and no full-time employment,Which you explain by saying that you win money gambling. I'm not sure the IRS finds that believable.'

I'm a great gambler, and I can prove it,' says Grandpa. 'How about a demonstration?'

The auditor thinks for a moment and said,'Okay. Go ahead.'

Grandpa says,'I'll bet you a thousand dollars that I can bite my own eye.'

The auditor thinks a moment and says,'It's a bet.'

Grandpa removes his glass eye and bites it. The auditor's jaw drops.

Grandpa says,'Now,I'll bet you two thousand dollars that I can bite my other eye.'

Now the auditor can tell Grandpa isn't blind,so he takes the bet. Grandpa removes his dentures and bites his good eye.

The stunned auditor now realizes he has wagered and lost three grand, with Grandpa's attorney as a witness. He starts to get nervous.

'Want to go double or nothing?' Grandpa asks 'I'll bet you sixthousand dollars that I can stand on one side of your desk, and pee into that wastebasket on the other side, and never get a drop anywhere in between.'

The auditor, twice burned,is cautious now,but he looks carefully and decides there's no way this old guy could possibly manage that stunt,so he agrees again.

Grandpa stands beside the desk and unzips his pants, but although he strains mightily,he can't make the stream reach the wastebasket on the other side,so he pretty much urinates all over the auditor's desk.

The auditor leaps with joy, realizing that he has just turned a major loss into a huge win.

But Grandpa's own attorney moans and puts his head in his hands.

'Are you okay?' the auditor asks.

'Not really,' says the attorney. 'This morning, when Grandpa told me he'd been summoned for an audit, he bet me twenty-five thousand dollars that he could come in here and pee all over your desk and that you'd be happy about it!'

They didn't offer a HO until 01.... so that 99 would have an SO pump... which I BELIEVE (don't quote me) still works with out modifications... I bet Ellis knows.

It will work. The big HP guys use so pumps over the high output. On another topic when did having driveshafts made get so dam expensive?
