Caleb, you cant turn up the 6bt in the 1700-1800-1900 series tractors, the stock dodge 6bt puts the chain coupler right at it's design limits. now the 2000 series have more torque capacity, would love to have a 2250 4wheel drive one of those. they be big enough the guys can put the c series cummins in them, or so ive heard.

Tom, I didn't know that the 1955s still had the chain coupler. I know I've seen a chain coupler in an 1800 and an 1850, but didn't remember seeing it in this 1955.
Good point though, if anything a Dodge-spec 6BT would need to be de-tuned. This is just a hay mowing tractor, not a farm stock puller

Also I got my new belt on jaeger, so I'm pleased about that. Then my brother and I went for a quad ride. Didn't get stuck once or break anything, so all in all it was a good day

Dar, you forgot to put the fiat in there someplace! My buddy has a Hart-Parr oliver. It's either a '32 or '34. The Hart Parr is large on the radiator and the Oliver is small underneath it, the opposite of the one in the 1st pic. It was just after Oliver bought H-P out. Pretty cool tractor, it's a tricycle with tiptoe wheels on the rear, they're about 6 ft tall.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.
the guy with the 770 hooked up to the 4 bottom pull plow must have sandy ground or he's dreamin, the 2250 4x gave me an organism.

hah,i need new glasses, the 770 is hooked to a three bottom, that's more like it, and the 2250 was actually a 2255

I planted some corn, sudan-grass and soybeans no-tilled in some pasture tonight. I did an experimental plot of about 4 acres sum total. Its called pasture cropping - somewhat common with the aussies. Graze the pasture real hard to stunt the grass, plant your crop and by the time the grass recovers, the inter-planted crop has taken off and shaded the pasture. I've read it works pretty well, so I'm going to give it a shot. The major upside is for rotational cropping is there is no tillage, spraying or replanting pasture involved (i.e. a lot less inputs, even though the yields can be less depending on whats planted). We'll see how it goes.
