My brother recently got a Polaris 850 xp and it does really good. Power steering is definitely nice when going through trails slow

Anyone heard of one of these?

http://baeturbosystems.com/HX45turbocharger.aspx

I was looking for a compressor housing for my 40 and seen this. I need a "short" inlet housing, as mine is long and the intake isn't lining up hardly at all as the intake elbow hits the alternator...

Just wondering if anyone has heard of that turbo.

The old Pile spanked a tuned 3rd gen tonight...felt pretty good that it actually pulled it off,

I want to go really fast now...good thing I am getting the overtime at work so I can eventually fund the shenanigans

Ike, a lot of guys on CompD use them for making their own hybrid turbos. BAE is top notch.

I seen that 45 and thought it was pretty cool, but after the little race yesterday, I REALLY want compounds. The 3.07's really seemed to help, I was able to stay in each gear longer than the other guy, as he had a six speed. If that truck was an auto I would've had my a$$ handed to me...

I bought rev-x to put in the oil to help out the injector that's sticking,I'm hoping that's all that's going on. It really should be because once it runs for a solid minute it clears up and won't miss again till it's cooled off. The plastic cooler tube has holes worn in it from the air box wallowing around on top of it because some genius broke the battery box up. That must be easy to do,neither side is in the truck and they are expensive has hell. The driver side box is 58$ and the passenger side is 141$ from ford,I'm looking for used ones.
There's a pretty good bit of wrong with this truck and it's sad to say most of its is pure stupidity on previous owners part. :|

That Rev-x sthi is expensive.

Yeah it is,I'll be pissed if it doesn't work.

I'll know as soon as it gets here cause this thing is a jackass to get going after it sits for 24hours. Those injectors are hanging up pretty bad. Choking and puking fuel.

Ike I don't know about that charger......seems like a lot of money for old school turbo tech. I'm fairly interested in it myself but seems expensive to me when there's no exhaust housing included. Now the wheels and covers they offer.....I can see building a hybrid with.
I've actually been looking at this stuff for awhile and am working on acquiring a combination lathe/mill to do the backing plate mods required to fit them.

Ellis, there is another product you can use that's cheaper than the Rev x stuff. The guys on our club site were talking about it, I'll see if I can find it for ya.

Ike, you notice there's no elbow or flange on the compressor outlet? How you gonna hit the IC going that way?

Pete, with a 90 degree boot....duh

Or I could just go with a 3" crossover and spray the ever loving piss out of it with water/methanol...like I wanted to a long time ago when I was building The Pile.

I mentioned the other day that the Dodge sometimes just felt/sounded different sometime when I started it up. No interior rattles, engine noise was much less, it drive nicer. I always figured it was all in my head, something dependant on my mood when I turned the key.

Turns out I'm not crazy. I was coming off the offramp today and as I shifted from 3rd to 4th, there was a noticeable change. I don't think there was an audible *pop*, but there was definitely a noise, then the truck just got super quiet. It was so different that I was wildly checking all my gauges to make sure something wasn't wrong.

EGT's dropped about 100-150* at cruise and turbo noise changed when it was spooling. It allllllmost sounded to me like it had blown a boot off and the turbo was breathing out of an open hole. Much deeper sounding than normal.

When I decided nothing catastrophic had happened, I rolled into it a little bit. Almost no engine noise, pure turbo whistle. Turbo was much more touchy, once the needle passed 10psi it was a straight shot to 35, I couldn't really modulate the throttle to keep it between them. Exhaust sound was a lot deeper than usual too.

I suppose the real test will be to see of it's still running like this tomorrow. :?

Any thoughts on what may have happened? I now it's a real crapshoot trying to guess on something with as much crap as mine tacked onto it. When I leave the KSB wire off the engine is super rattly, but it's a different sound than usual and nothing like what happened today.

Got some pretty not good news about my house today. My attendance at the Iowa event is now questionable, as is the continued ownership of my truck. Stupid house...
