CompD. I think judging by cross sectional area alone, they are the largest factory injectors to come in 12v CTD powered Dodges. I don't want to do the math right now, but if I remember right, that's correct.

I don't know if its the same person but there was a set for sale there listed as 300 marines.

Just to be 100% clear, we're all in agreement that the parking brake arm does not adjust the brake "star wheel" to remove slack in the rear shoes? We had this discussion many moons ago and that seemed to be the case, but I want to be sure.

My rear brakes are always a little looser than the fronts, hence warped rotors and noticeably more pedal movement than when they're adjusted up. My truck has no ebrake, but it does have the brakes applied while rolling backwards often. My driver's side star wheel was boogered so I recut the notches in it as best I could, passenger's side is (was) still as factory.

I'm pulling some round bales tonight, so after I hooked up the gooseneck I have the rear brakes a few spins until they felt like they felt right. Not the first time I've tightened them, definitely the first time I set my parking brake with them. :?

I was rewarded with 1k* EGTs just maintaining 55, an overheating cooling system, and a wonderful smell along with a delightful smoke show once I got home (My tools were all there, no screwdriver in the truck). This was with an empty trailer. I wiped all the notches off both of them hammering them back around to loosen them up. If they do work like that they sure won't now.

So, am I wasting my time with a hardware kit since I have no E-brake? I'd like for them to self-adjust, but they sure as hell haven't done it yet.

You don't need an ebrake for the adjusters to work.

If you use a smaller diameter longer screw driver you can go under the star wheel setup and hit the lever that adjusts it. Just push it out and trun the start wheel easy then.

If you have out of round drums the self adjusters don't work good eather.

I see, thanks for the info.

They were probably out of round before, definitely out of round after last night.

Okay has anyone ever used any of the Quadivator products? I'm interested in the quality. I'm looking at buying their setup with and irrigation plow.

Doh! Should have left it alone

On another note I now have had my first a$$ whoppin for the year and it comes by way of a duramax engine in an 05 2500HD.
It came to me smoking and down on power after digesting some dirty fuel from a Murphy fuel station. I droped the tank, lines and cleaned them out followed up with flushing of the engines fuel system. I then buckled up the fuel system and ran the truck with a tank rigged in the bed. Truck still had the same symptoms so customer was called and a discussion was had and a path laid out to replace the pump and injectors all at once to elevate in future problems.
Did this work out......sure did.....for an hour of idle time and about 500 foot of travel.

Appears that the common rail fuel systems will deposit garbage inside their wonderful rail(s) and will have said garbage dislodge, find it's way to the injectors, ruining them in about 2min of high rail pressures. Total bs.

This System is freaking stupid.....all of the return and distribution is handled by the drivers rial. This means that the passenger rail will catch/trap/hold any and all trash passed along to it by the drivers rail. Poor designe in my eyes. With diesels inherent capability to grow/nurture organisms,no way would I want to capture it in a 12"long 1/2" wide tube where it could fester up some sort of injector killing machine.

I hate new diesels

I set a 45* shackle angle with brand new springs, once they settled it layed them way over. Just the empty weight of the gooseneck was enough to flatten them out the rest of the way. Not a very good-riding setup.

I'm going to scoot them back and pull some leaves to keep my ride height one of these days. The 2ndgwn IC just got bumped up though, it was like my pyro and Coolant temp gauge were monitoring an active volcano while I was towing 7 round bales down the highway at 65mph. It's really hilly here, and even with the AFC backed completely backed off she was getting grouchy on the uphills.
