Bitchin? I'd like to say that I ain't bitching now,you should have heard me when I found out what was wrong with this thing :?

I boardered on insanity when I found out I had to remove all these parts again....pump,injectors,and complete rail/line system. To clean this

To add to things I just got off the phone with the injector shop.....one of there hands called me to tell me there was nothing wrong with those injectors. Bs I say,I got an extra gallon of oil......where in the hell did it come from? Gotta be a stuck one some where. I told him to look harder :? And call me back. I ain't stupid, one is/was bad.

I'm fixin to go work construction or something

Guess I'll be dropping these in my chemical dip for carbs for a few days

Any screens in those rails or lines?

Better check them pretty thoroughly, our 6.0 and dad's injectors had screens all over the place. Don't want them holding anything.

That's the worst rail I've ever seen. Blow all the big sthi out if you can before you soak them. Speaking of 6.0 how is the crew coming?

The cr cummins aren't so bad. Just one rail to mess up.

On another note I'd been having a weird experience with jaeger where the rpms would be low then just jump when it went to third. Turns out the converter was locking. Now I just have to adjust 3rd so it stays locked, and pull pilot back to make it quieter. Then half the pilot on one of the tunes so it rattles more. Ahh isn't custom tuning fun

I think the "g" wheels fit the car.

Ellis.... just because you get to work on it, doesn't mean the owner was ok with you also driving it. Just to make sure when you changed the oil it didn't put the tires out of balance... piss poor excuse man.

No fins out back, so a '55? Nice car, not a huge fan of the wheels either. Some of these cars look good with big wheels, but they have to flow with the style, them dont.
For instance, awhile back there was a mid 50's Buick in Hot Rod mag, built by Rad Rides by Troy. That had 20's on it, but they fit with the car. I'll try and find a pic.

Either way, sweet car, owner can do as he wants, if he likes it, all that matters

Since we're talking old gasser trash...

I think my 460 needs the carb rebuilt/cleaned. Sometimes it'll run fine and then 10 minutes later I have to close the choke just to keep it running. It runs fine with the choke closed whenever it has those fits so I'm saying there's gum in the carb that works its way loose now and again.

Gas engines are so finicky.

Before you rebuild it, try reving it up abit, then choking the carb with a rag, the vacuum caused by this is suppose to suck all the sthi out of the tiny orifices and help it run better. While not a perm fix, may get you by for a bit.

I've not tried this, just witnessed it, really seemed to help

Yep
Get it warmed up,with the air cleaner off,rev it up and smoother it down with your hand over the carb till it nearly dies, remove hand and clean it out by reving it back up. I do this two or three times and it usually work good for clearing goo and trash out of the boosters, which is what's wrong with yours Caleb.
