They didn't let me run it unfortunately. It is a load dyno. Funnily enough after I told the guy what was done he told the guy at the computer to up the load.

Probably a dumb question, but if I were to be able to track down a set of 35 spline axles, would they swap straight into my 32 spline housing if I put a 35 spline detroit in it?

More importantly, are the axles of a D70 and D71 the same length? The odds of me finding another. '71 to pirate are slim, but with their (slightly) offset carrier I wonder if the axles are interchangeable...?

Axles are the same between the two. The carriers other than the spline counts are the same.

I might have a set of 35 spline axles. I have been thinking about parting my spare axle out. One spindle has a problem.

Hiney has one he's gonna check out for me, hopefully in the rain, to see if it's 35 spline.

Out of his '92, Getrag D250, so I doubt it is. I know I probably can't handle another road trip through those Indiana roads.

Thanks for the axle info. 8)

If everyone wasn't being so helpful finding parts for me, I'd part with my axle Levi. I'll know more in the next few days.

Caleb, most of it is we hate to see our friends lose their trucks, and the other thing is we just hate to lose trucks period.

You keep your truck, buddeh. But a junk PS and use your 1stgen when you actually *need* to get something done and can't risk it.

I liked mine, wish I still had it too! I "upgraded" to an iphone5 and while it's ok, it does not have a capability to have a missed call reminder on it nor an fm radio(which helps out when doing tedious jobs like bush hogging or mowing grass)
It's hard for me to except something like that on such an advanced phone. Why the hell would you leave that out,my guess is to keep the owner picking up the phone.

Ellis, try downloading tunein radio. You can normally find local stations or one that you like. Iheart radio is another ok one.

Tore the tractor down last night to fix an oil leaking head gasket. Turns out we got lucky and pulled it apart when we did. It was lifting the head and letting compression leak out. I guess 65 pounds of boost at 40 degrees of pump timing will do that. $1200 later studs new gasket and fire rings are on the way. Trying to have it back together by Thursday.
