Local Credit Union would only lend KBB value on my dually, had to scrounge the rest. So ballpark $8250, unless value has changed dramatically since Sept 2012

That's higher than I thought....I was guessing around $6000. Someone would really have to want a 21 year old truck BAD to spend that kind of money. I love 1st gens but if I ever throw that kind of money at a truck its going to have to be a little newer. (I've got a box full of reciepts for my '93 but I think I'd throw up if I actually added them all up :yuck: I do love it though)

Yes and no. Got a good deal on tires. Sandblasted and painted all the wheels. Got the axle under it and had a leaking wheel seal. Pulled it apart and someone had spun the outer wheel bearing and rigged it back by "welding" and grinding the spindle. Looked like crap...

Found a place that can fix it right or swap the guts from mine to a good housing, but I don't have the $$$ to fix it until overtime kicks in in the fall. (Bought a small farm/house/rental trailer this year and all my funds are tapped out)

Anyone know where I can find the hub switch (don't know the proper term) that goes on the end of the axle housing? Got to the shop this morning and noticed that the chrome ring with 6 screws in it was gone. I looked online but didn't see any stock replacements. If anyone has one laying around let me know.

Amen brother. That's getting into 3rd gen pricing there.

It depends on your bank. I know mine would. When I was looking a couple of years ago. I was told it didn't matter on year. Pick what I wanted. If I thought the price was right for condition. They would do it. I was looking at 1st gen's in that price range and up.

Congrats Ike. A little over 30 days to SOP. The youngen should be ready for a road trip by then..

With other collateral I'm sure mine could work something out, but with just the truck its NADA value only.
