Everything was new 2 months ago and 1500 miles ago. Now a self adjuster came apart and trashed my shoes and a drum on one side. Both hubs seals leak. Ugh.

~$400 disc brake setup is available for them. Weld-on, but if it's an auto or 4x4 stick I see no need for the e-brake.

I'll let you borrow my stuff, I can meet you half way or something...

I'm getting a hot wrench setup here next week. Plus, I wouldn't feel comfy with 2 bottles strapped to the Subbies roof. Though, knock the valves off and that little 2.5L might get 60mpg.

I'm pretty sure if you look around someone makes a parking brake set up that goes on the 205 tcase.

If you still are having problems with the yukon set up let me know and I'll see if I can pull some strings for you.

Do you have some pull there?

I've paid money to my local guy, and like I said dude's nice as hell but just isn't a dodge guy, so he's not much help in relaying what I'm trying to tell them. They're dead set that the carrier needs to be offset to compensate for the gears and I don't know if dude is just not telling them or not understanding himself that the housing is already made with the offset, but I'm getting nowhere...

If you've got experience with a swap like this and they know you I'm tagging you in.

I deal with enough idiots myself at work to know why they're doing what they're doing, but I can't help but feel like they may be the wrong ones this time. At my expense...

High Angle Driveline makes one for our 205's, for $375. There are a few others out there...

Jon I usually end up using a small air cut off wheel, 4" grinder sawzall, chisel and big hammer.

They are wrong. That 4:56 carrier will not drop into the case with the 3:07 ring gear installed. It moves the ring gear to far to the right. The ring gear wouldn't have enough room to drop into mesh with the pinion.

Send it back and tell them to send you a carrier for a 3:54 to 4:10 gear ratio.

Remember Yukon gear does not make a 3:07 gear set. I dought if they have ever had a set in their grubby little hands.

I have probably had more 70's apart than anyone on our websites. 3:07 axles I am on my third rear axle and my second front axle. The first rear axle was bent. I had to rebearing it till I could find a replacement. The relacement 70 I did a rebearing and ran it 120k till I had a axle stub go bad. The third axle was rebearing and its doing fine so far.

The replace on the front axle was due to bending it.

3:54/410's I have had many of them apart in all three of the OEM's.

If you want a pic of a carrier that was installed in a 3:07 axle. I have one in a box ready to ship. I can unbox it and take a pic with a tape measure showing the ring gear height for the left side bearing hub.

Philip, how does one bend and axle??? I can see how the guys that off road their trucks a lot can bend one, but yours is a working truck, just heavy loads and what not do it?

I took lots-o-pics while I had them out, no way to show them to Yukon but I assume local dude relay'd them. They still want me to try installing it. :?

Bearing seats are almost perfectly aligned, within .050" anyway.

As are overall lengths, so my measuring off the ends wouldn't cause a bad measurement.

Ike I have no idea how that rear 70 got bent. It was like that when I got the truck. The front 60 I bent myself. I was in deep snow with a couple of big round bails on the bed. It was about a 8% uphill grade. I was in low range throwing a lot of engine at it.

Talked to the gear dude myself today, he insisted that not only are the housings different but the gears themselves are and I need that 4.56 Detroit. I tried explaining the housing offset like 3 times, but they were insistent that the 3.54-4.10 gears had an offset built into them as well. :?

I sent Root a PM, I've done all I can do. :bom:

Levi, just say you have a 3.55 gear and need a LS.

Andy, I finally got it. I'll post it to facebook later. I had a "DUH!" moment. I was cutting thinking how fast I was losing blades. I was thinking how much this looked like cutting stainless when it hit me. SLOW THE BLADE DOWN! I lowered the Sawzall speed from 5 to 2 and only waste 2 blades for 1.5 cuts.
