You can put a poor farmer in a new truck, but he's still the same poor farmer ;)

My front tires were as bald as can be. It made driving in the rain quite treacherous. I looked on craigslist for 3 weeks for a set of used 285s and the only ones I could find had 10% tread and cost $100 each

Ehhhh, the usual. Local guy called and said Randy's will only swap me if I pay 15% restock and shipping both ways. I called Randy's tech again and tried to lay it out one more time, then cussed him like a man. I told him if he hadn't had his hands in a D70 like this then to stfu and put me in touch with someone who has. He then said he'd have one of his actual mechanics, who supposedly had, give me a call when he got in off the floor.

No call.

I told local guy to get me the right carrier, I'll pay whatever, then I'm going to document the entire install and start wrecking up the whAt? place with Emails. I doubt I'll get anything out of it, but it feels good to talk some sthi after all this.

I grabbed Final Fantasy X on my PS3, I'm gonna need a time-burner this winter. I'm canceling the cable and dropping down a bunch of Internet speed.

Worked today. Spent damn near 12 hours helping align a Waukesha 7042, gearbox, and screw compressor. It was way out, and the guys who rebuilt the screw ended up breaking their laser aligning tool (dropped it on the floor) so we used the one in the bosses truck. I can't complain about 14 hours of double time though. Going back tomorrow to finish putting it together and startup

I dought if they have a mechanic that has ever worked on a set of 3:07's other than doing a bearing replace and reset.

I would call the same guy back and ask why the mechanic didn't call. Keep the pressure up. They sent you the wrong part and want you to pay for their mistake. Time to hound them. Also tell him you want to talk to the owner.

Tell them to join this site and look over the talk about 3:07's we have had. I can bury who ever your talking to.

I should have gotten wise after my last small gas engine episode....

I replaced a blown up 15HP 1 cylinder B&S with a 18HP 2 cylinder B&S on my lawn mower. the mechanical part was straight forward, but the ignition makes me want to smack my head against the concrete. Why can't it be a simple 12v coil? No, it has to have some sort of regulator.

How do I make the BS flag smilie work? I really need it

We had a MTD riding lawn mower like that. The 12hp died, a 18hp V-twin replaced it. When the deck engaged, it levitated. Weeds that would put a Z-turn to shame.

Fuck 'em.

I can tell you right now they have no interest in learning otherwise. They've already claimed no responsibility in terms of me having to pay the restocking/shipping. I'm not talking to them again without documented proof to the contrary of what they know, and even them I doubt they'll give a sthi.

I'll just want my $$ back in the end. They can shove whatever they learn from it up their ass

Oh, and speaking of fkcu 'em, I left my truck at work last night so I could work on it today. Sometime between then and 9-ish this morning someone broke into the place and did about 5 doughnuts in it down in the pit. No idea who it was, but they left all my snap on tools and mikita cordless stuff alone that was sitting right there in the cab. I'm betting it was one of the truck drivers or an employee.

Needless to say I'm down another stud on the passenger rear since I was planning on tightening them today.

Guess I'll be upgrading to 9/16 studs after all. Doesn't matter that I just bought the 1/2" lugnuts I would have needed. I'm sure whoever did it thought it would be funny, but I don't think any of the bosses are going to think so. :?

On the plus side, I did get the np241 installed. It did bolt right up, but it didn't want to go into the 727's rear adapter holes. I had to pull it in with a bolt then wiggle, tighten bolt, then wiggle. Took about 6 times before the holes decided they would allow this after all and let me wiggle it on without the bolt assisting. The rear DS has extended about an inch, and the front has also extended some. Can't get a measurement yet, as it turned the DS up into the 4" exhaust somehow. It cleared with the 205, and it looks like I'll just have to loosen it and turn it some to clear.

I'd say I dropped ~ 100lbs, and lo-range is pretty much pushing through my un-assisted brakes. I've got to shove on it with both feet to stop it.

My hydroboost setup just came in from Mark, so that little problem oughta be solved pretty quickly. 8)

There used to be somebody advertise in the wheeler dealer papers about buy and sell b and c series cummins motors somewhere around Tompkinsville ky, anybody know who it is? and are they still there? Guy I know needs a c motor for his front end loader.

How freely should a used turbo spin? A friend has am HX-35 he's wanting to give to me as partial payment for some work. There's no in and put movement, slight side to side, but when you spin the compressor wheel, it only spins for a rev or so then stops. Feels like there's a slight drag, but I assume because its been setting for 4+ years on a shelf, and it does have oil being fed to it would cause this.
Thought about pouring some oil in the feed tube and spinning it, seeing if it changes at all.
Thoughts?
