Way closer, since he's driving 15 or 1800 miles to get there!

Made a new CCV vent tube since I found the old setup sprayed oil on my comp housing. Also aside from 2 nights I've loaded a new tune every night this week

At least you can see a valve cover, unlike the V8's.

It's still a total b!$&h to get at number 6 for a valve lash, and I put a hole in one back pocket in my jeans sitting in there working on it. First gens are way better

Little status update on the RC, I pulled the high idle screw and moved the linkage to the inside hole, it's good to 90 with 33x12.50's. I haven't taken the slack out of the throttle cable yet, so there may be a bit more left in it. It was good enough for the hour or so I spent on the interstate today.

Mr. Always-leave-a-motor-mount-loose-Thompson did notice that I forgot to tighten the long bolts that go between the block and U-shaped piece of steel that sits on the motor mount. One is MIA and the other is hanging about 2" out of its hole, held in only by the weight of the engine wedging it sideways. Guess I'll fix that tomorrow.

That's a nice rc Levi. I drove The Roo Hunter for a while with the drivers side engine mount just like that for a while (probably about a month after I noticed it, and who knows how long before)

It's pretty rusty, but oddly enough it's rusted in all the opposite places from the old Dodge.

I'm gonna hack the rockers off of it tomorrow. Start my own version of rust fixing.

An odd part of me wants a crew cab short bed and weld the rear section of a RC on to it to make a Dodge Suburban. Then I remember all I really have to do is buy a suburban and swap it. Lot less hassle.

Or just rock a normal RC, it isn't so bad as a 2-door. It would be nice if the driver's seat folded forward too, but I wouldn't make it any longer. The thing is basically a forklift with the wheelbase it has.

And yeah, Chevys suck.

I know it's a Ford and all, but I don't think the DOT will hassle you about it unless you don't get it completely off the road. :P

Started my rust "fix". A piece of 4" strap fits right up in the space left behind, so I'll weld one in there to stiffen the rocker back up. Bonus points that it got me some extra clearance around the front tire. I was having some interference already when it gets crossed up.

I may be doing this to my truck to rid of some of the bad rust. $300 in rockers and floorboards...
