Jeeze I'm willing to part ways with my 351ve for less than that.

On another note I'm a little over a thousand miles into my trip to S.O.P, and the truck hasn't missed a beat. Averaged 19.1mpg on the last tank, and this one looks to be a little better. The tail wind has been strong enough to drop my egts 100*, so for some good stretches the pyro will sit at 600

A good part of the trip is for seeing the trucks. After sop I have to get my traction bars from Eric. Then I'm visiting a lady friend before I go home

I called the local Napa and asked for a vacuum pump for my Ford. I told them 02, diesel, etc. Nope, they didn't have it.

Fire up the ol internet machine, look up a part number, call them, and reserve my vacuum pump.

My local parts goons can't find it when I print it off their site and hand it to them. Last guy told me it didn't exist and that O'Reilly's never carried it. I had the page off their site printed off and had already gave it too him. I got asked yo leave after asking if anyone with a brain worked there that could help me.

There is one auto parts store that I have faith in and that is NAPA in Frankfort, IN. The rest are all slowly evening themselves out on the pathetic scale. I won't walk in and expect to get the right part. I find it myself on their site and present them with a part number. I learned to do that after a carrier bearing fiasco.

It doesn't seem to matter what I'm looking for Ellis. I bet some of these clowns couldn't find a headlight bulb for a 2003 Cavalier. No big deal, there's only about 1000 Cavaliers in this town. GM parts, Chrysler parts, or Ford parts. Its a universal issue. I wish John Deere or my friends at Cat sold pick-up truck parts. They're organized and knowledgeable.

Really dude? You don't think I know that? i saw an opportunity to bust you for owning a ford and took it  however weak a jab it was

I wonder when it becomes just part of the part buying experience for everyone and it's just expected? It's common place for me,rather was,I order everything on line now. I hardly call the store anymore.

Bottom line is,everyone wants parts in two of three ways. Good, fast, and cheap. Problem is you can NOT have all three, you can have good and fast, but it won't be cheap.......that kind of thing. That bleeds off into the pay of the ever disappearing knowledgeable counter man. if the part store sells cheap parts they're not gonna hire the best and brightest because they won't pay what the parts guy is worth.....so you end up with some video game playing pizza faced kid to deal with.

It is what it is.

The only thing that chaps my a$$ more than what your talking about,is telling me what I need to do to what I'm working on,or telling me how to diagnose. That'll earn a punch to the throat, quick fast and in a hurry.
