Anybody ever hear of a "farm special" made in the mid '90's? I was talking to a guy today who said he has one. It's a 3/4 ton truck with heavier driveline parts all thru it, wheel bearings, brakes, axles, etc. He said every time he needs parts he has to get them thru dodge or take the parts to be matched up.
Just wondering if anybody else has heard of one.

I don't know about a farm special, but dad's W 250 has some 350 parts on it.

Hey Ellis any tips on putting a 350 in s square body S10? Brother started a new project today. He is putting a card vortec 350 in it. Are you angle to keep the AC?

There are several things that you have to do to be able to run ac,especially if you want to keep the newer brackets and serpentine belts.
1 buy the short (car style) engine mounts for the engin side. Moroso (sp) makes some that I like
2 remove the rubber engine mounts from the frame and throw them away. This will let the motor set down and back enough to allow room for a long water pump and your brackets. For mounting the engine,I use a piece of black iron pipe(any kind of thick walled tubing will work) cut to fit tight in the engine mounts,weld it to the frame with a gusset from frame to under side of tubing. If I remember right,usually I find that about one inch of tubing sticks forward of the crossmember. That where the gusset comes in. I also add some to the top of the tubing,down the side. I've done 3 of these trucks like this and have never had any issues with this mounting. Also there will be ample hood clearance done like this.
3 I would recess the radiator into the core support to run a mechanical fan,there's nothing more reliable than a mechanical fan to me.....but I'm weird

That's the brackets/serp setup from a 94 z71. It doesn't look like much but it was all just crap I had laying around. After the 2.8 died at 280k I wasn't just gonna throw the truck away.

This one has a rod knocking 2.5 in it. He has a 90% rust free bed, doors and fenders. What did you do for exhaust manifolds?

Looks like small tube headers in the pic.

Pete has it right. Best ones to get are headman headers made for this swap. 3/8 flangs with ball flang collectors. No leaks,no pita gasket changes. They're shorties tho,long tubes are a bad idea on these trucks because of the way the frame necks around the trans.

I was driving yesterday and noticed a mouse playing around on the pass side floor. Didn't think too much of it, until his buddy joined in the frolicking. Then I got annoyed and managed to chase one out. Far as I know the other one is still there. Going to put a trap today, but I don't even know how they got in there...
