I rode my motoscooter in this morning, 26* and flurries.

all it takes is the correct gear......I wish I would have never done the math on how much it saves me in fuel, then I would know.

Nice thing about today is there's not a cloud in the sky, so it's warmed up to -13c

Ellis, IIRC, that's the standard one for our engines.

Light flurries here most of the afternoon, supposed to drift off to the north and lake effect starts tonight. Crap. Really don't need that yet. :( Yesterday I plugged in my timer for the block heater, today when I got home I strung out the cord and plugged the truck in. It's supposed to be in the 20's tonight, but the last 2 times they said that and I fired up the stove it was 37* in the morning. It is nice to walk out in the morning and have a warm floor though. Sighhhhhhhhh.

Bummers!
There's got to be something else....I'll be on the hunt for something else to fill a 58mm freeze plug hole.

Edit.
I may just put 2 in 8)
That should heat things up.

I've got an old espar I'm considering putting in jaeger

Also if anyone is ever servicing a compressor unit make sure it's depressured unless you want to get covered in compressor oil when you change the filters

It'll stay the same temp, just get there faster, Ellis. Same way with a lightbulb, they get to their wattage and stay there, more lights don't make it any brighter they just put out more of the same light.

Late 70s I had a 74 duster 225 3 speed manual factory floor shifter. Wish I still had that car. I put a 750 watt tank heater on it, came out of the water jacket and tied into the heater hose with y fitting. that car had cable controls for the heater, I would put it on defrost and the windshield was always clear after being plugged in no matter what the weather.

Quick question for frrt owners, where is the block heater plug in at, I looked on the passenger side and cant find a cord, are the block heaters optional on them or were they standard equipment?

Tom, same place as on the 1st gens. Not sure if the cord was optional or the whole heater. I know the newer ones came with the heater but if you got the option it had the cord also.

Ellis, you live in mipisipidipi, how cold can it get? You could get a tank style heater, they make those up to and maybe over 1500 watts. You'll know when it kicks on, the local power plant will have to bring another reactor on line.

It's in the 20s right now.....how cold does it need to be before you except the fact that this is a ppump enigne with 18+* of timing
I'm good now tho....the factory one was bad. It's cranking easier with the 24v unit, still won't warm the water enough for warm air in the cab at start up.....the dodge does tho,it's dead tho.....more on that later :(
