RCCUMMINS89 wrote:Here is why Dave Goerend is the man.....I've been talking to him (not knowing that I am a "company") on this 48re and its "random" issues. He has talked to me for probably 6 hours total, even calling me back just to check up on things.

Yet, I have not bought a single product from him. He is merely doing it for no other reason than straight customer service, that has ZERO benefit for him. I thought that I was the only person who just liked to talk about truck problems that much.....

And Firepunk... well... the top 3 DPC trucks this year had their transmissions, and 1 of the top 3 last year did. Their transmissions are serious to say the least.

When I said not to talk to part salesmen I didn't mean folks that made a name building transmissions. I'm talking about issues like that Flynn guy was having,he listened to a partsman.....
Bottom line is its your trans, listen to whoever you want.

"Firepunk" Why the hell would a business name themselves something like that. It doesn't sound serious to me,sounds diesel ricer.

So it's basically t-shirt weather here today, so hopefully the roads dry out, and I won't get so much road grime/salt on my truck

I love this damn thing. It is by far and away the nicest vehicle I've owned and with me driving 890+ miles a week, the 40+mpg is going to be great.

I'd recommend a press. Normally I'd be all for throwing some heat cycles at it and hammering it out but I've always been wary of heating spring steel.

If you'd rather go rubber/poly to improve ride I don't see why you couldn't.

There wasn't much bushing left to press, they were pretty much toast, used an arbor press at work to help. The mount on the frame with a bushing could be interesting, but I think a large c clamp will help. Ended up just ordering stock replacements. Not really feeling like changing to rubber, cause then id have to change bolts, then shackles and the mounts. I just want it done, and they lasted 44k miles of hard use, should last for me

That is a nice ride, congrats! My phone cuts off every pic so I'll have to get on the pc at home to see what's beside it.

I'd heat/beat the hell out of the frame-side, springs just scare me. Any chance of fitting a hacksaw blade in the bolt hole? Relief the brass in a couple places and it would probably hammer right out.
