I made mention in the bs tread that I've found that the number 4 injection line on the ppump is thumping HARD. So hard in fact that you can feel it all the way thru the line even by the injector. Idling cold the engine, while cranky,is rather smooth but as it heats the idle turns choppy. You can hear it lay off on one cylinder. Also the tap/knock is happening sooner in the rpm band, off idle and while applying any throttle. It's in the pump. Damn.
So I was thinking that I'd try to open it up to see what's happening in there and try to fix it. Then I thought about tearing down that 3/4 ton 95 I have and just stick its motor in the chevy....since this one is being a pain in the ass and I have these injectors and springs already. Plus I have my fuel system bought/ready to be installed to feed the ppump setup. Problem with the other engine is.....347k on the clock and absolutely zero funds for a rebuild.
The next thing I've pondered on was the 24v......and ve'ing it. I've been wanting to do this for awhile but......I have all this freakin time and money in parts for the ppump 12 valve that I'm torn on what to do. Bottom line is this engine in the chevy is sucking hind tit and I'm tired of dicking with it,it's gotta go.
All that being layed out there, let's have a vote, conversation on which way to go and which way would cost the least.
Only one thing stands between a ppumped 24v.....600$ worth of lines.
Ve'ed 24valver or old raggedy ruddy poot 12valver warmed over with my current parts.
