FINALLY figured out why the truck is dog tracking to the right, the rear axle is shifted and is not perpendicular to the frame. I was under the truck today trying to find the BOM on the rear axle and I was thinking what could be the reason why its dog tracking. Looked at the lift blocks and I could clearly see why, there was more protruding over the spring perch on the axle tube on one side versus the other. Some cross measuring with a tape measure verified it. Soon enough I am going to dig into the rear axle and fuel tank leak, so I am going to pull the bed off and have some room to work. I will also be mounting the air ride again. When I have the rear suspension apart, I am going to look at the condition of the locating pins on the blocks and the springs, and the holes in the blocks and spring pads and see how much slop there is. I am not opposed to welding on some new perches and getting some new blocks or doing a shackle flip...wonder how that would work with that Kelderman...
On another note, besides the bluish haze at start-up, the thing has been performing well. Ran great all the way to SOP and back, I really need to get some decent and balanced tires on it. Heck, even the cruise is starting to work, not decent yet, but it will try and maintain speed. Got the reverse lighting circuit finished, along with the interior lights to operate on a switch. Bunch of little things I never finished up when I rebuilt the truck.
