Smoke screw and star wheel are to tune when/how much/how fast fuel is allowed before boost. They have no effect on overall hp.
Smoke screw - How much fuel is allowed before boost. CW increases low end fuel
Star wheel - How quickly fuel comes on once there is boost. CW quickens fuel delivery
Full fuel screw - Alters overall fuel across the board. When the screw is turn CW, it pushes on a fulcrum lever that controls a slide collar. CW increases fuel and hp.
A gray haze before the turbo lights is what a lot of people tune to, though it will be difficult with your DennyT, as it goes almost immediately to full fuel with just a little boost. It can also allow o ring leakage. I'd suggest a better cut fuel pin; THD would allow a lot of bottom end smoke to be tuned out.
