To convert a 47re to a 47rh you need an rh overdrive unit, if all you can find is a gasser version you need to swap in the brass governor weights, the OD and direct clutch retainer (holds more discs) and the diesel planetary gears, the housing and the output shaft were the same in the diesels and gassers. On the back of the main case there is OD piston retainer, you need the rh version which has the 2 holes for the governor pressure tubes, this does not have to be from diesel tranny. If you can find a 47rh valve body use that, if you can't find one use any gasser OD tranny with L/U and switch out the little shift valve springs under the various little covers on the valve body. use the re valve body selenoid pack on the rh valve body, you just have to figure out which 3 out of the 8 pins control the od and L/U. the reason for that is the electrical plug increased in diameter where it goes through the case when they went to 8 pins for the re series.
