search on pirate 4x4, good write on there for rebuilding the dana 60 including kingpins, get lots of cold beer, big snipe and acetylne torch. just saying itll all come in handy. i think you need 7/8" hex(allen) key/socket or a long enough piece of stock that you can bend like a allen key to get your snipe on

I'd recommend only changing the springs and poly bushings in the top first, unless you know there's other problems or you just like spending money.

Those bushings fixed the tire wear/camber problem I was having. 8)

I have replaced two sets of kingpins in two different vehicles, both showed wear. Usually a small amount but i think its worth inspecting the kingpin atleast.

I thought a snipe was a bird? I've heard of people going snipe hunting, then I saw one in that movie "Up". Tall colorful critter with a big pecker. (beak you perverts! )

See, Disney took some Hollywood (perve alert...) liberty in that bird. A snipe is found usually with red coloring and a dry sense of humor.

Hard to believe there is no old sailor here that can explain to Pete what a snipe is.

Just did mine not too long ago. DTR has some great writeups on the subject. Found the job relatively easy...and I had to do it in the sun in 100 degree weather:
