Looking better the more you put on and cover that green up!

Judging by your avatar you'll be changing to a cat engine next?

:P

Here's where I'm putting the regulator. This is going to be where I run the lines, at last until I figure out where, or if, I use my underhood filter setup. I put on and tightened up a few things here and there, including my motor mounts. That's kind of a big deal for me, since I always seem to leave one motor mount loose on anything I work on. Didn't get much else done underhood, since I started focusing on my rear brake line. The metal one from the proportioning valve to the rubber line was just about rusted in two. I have no idea how it was still holding fluid, but I've got to replace it now while the tank's out.

Here's the goods:

And here's my completed draw straw.

Of course I didn't finish this on the clock when the bosses left for breakfast, don't be ridiculous.

Is the hood going to hit the regulator?

Always with the doubt. :P

I honestly have no idea, but if it does I'll just do some creative bending on it's bracket. The hood has a rubber snubber that sits on a little ledge in the center of the cowl. The regulator is even with the top of that, so I don't think it should.

Well, it just looked high to me, sorrrrrryy! The pic is a little blurry across the top there so I wasn't sure. Haven't you ever heard of constructive criticism? :P

No worries, I had it take a piss test before I could trust it to protect my IP seal.

Nothing cool to report, besides the fact that I got my manifold gaskets and then got drunk. I did get a new brake line run, but it looks like crap...

I've always hated brake lines for that. No matter how you bend them they always look as white trash as possible. I spent forever routing mine around everything and getting it level and even with the frame. I took a step back to look at it, and it just looked like complete sthi...

I'll just spray it black and hope nobody has a reason to look at it. 8)

Got the tank reassembled and ready to pick up, went to resecure my 2 returns and found I didn't grab any hose clamps...

Cussed about that for a while, then went to the front of the truck to finish mounting the twins. I get it all bolted and holding, pop off the HX40 clamp to stuff some fireplace-door-sealer in it, and completely strip the nut when I tighten it back up. :yuck:

So now it sits, because if something else goes wrong I'm just going to set the whole garage on fire...

Also, since when did they start making HX40 clamps out of platinum? The cheapest one I could find was $30, before shipping.

That would save you $5, but shipping from Source is usually pretty high.

I actually think that's where I got it.

I was gonna get one from JKidd, but I got to looking at they an they've only got 2 V pieces instead of 3. With all the crap I'm trying to get mine over I'd like it to be as flexible as possible.

I actually got something done!

Image

It hangs just even with the crossmember, and you can only see the water drain if you're down at that level looking at it. Fully ported and polished elbow, of course. 8)

I even had a brainstorm and noticed that the nut I stripped on my V-band is the same as the 20 others I have laying around from my countless intercooler clamps. (Not really, Dad walked in and pointed that out  ) So I threw another nut on it and got it all tightened up, then rebent my primary brace to line back up with the flange after my new wastegate dump moved it over 3/4".

Got all my returns run, and pulled off my timing cover to loctite the cam retainer and put a new gasket on it. Threw it all back together and found out my Case dealer sold me a freaking P-pump timing gasket. I know I gave them the VE Cummins number, with a "J" instead of a "3", so who knows wtf happened.

I guess that was strike three for them, so I'll just be ordering everything from Cummins and waiting the day or so for it to ship here.

I got all my feed and drain lines for my turbos run and the oil and additive siting there waiting for a sealed engine to use it in. If this gasket issue hadn't appeared I'd probably be putting water in the radiator right now.
