As embarrassing as this is, we've got one of those gensets sitting outside right now that I did some work on. I didn't even pay attention to the color...

Roosa pump, 6bta with the water "a"...

Think they'd notice if that aftercooled got replaced with my old non-IC'd intake plate?

I'll check on the fans when I get home. I can only hide in this generator so long before a boss catches me.

He can't call Cat anymore, he said his wallet couldn't take it. :P

I fired it up tonight!! Rockauto came through like a monster and had my steering hose here in one day. Bleeding the fuel turned out to be a huge PITA, which turned out to be because I didn't tighten any of the air ferrels on the suction side of my LP. The 2 on the filter were easy to find, but the one on the LP I didn't notice until after I had dropped the tank again to check my pickup.

It fired up nice, and besides a couple of return leaks it didn't have any drips. There's still a return leak at the tank I'll have to fix and once I rerun the valve it'll be ready for a idle up to temp and then another retorque of the studs and the valves again.

Of course the damn thing blew smoke all over me when it started. I think it smokes worse now than it did before, so who knows how bad that fuel line restriction was hurting me...

Oh, and if it's not a big deal, I'll get the fan info tomorrow. I spent the night laying in a pool of diesel so I'm gonna hit the shower and the recliner.

That was the first 980 they ever bought new, he's still in love with it.

See if you guys can throw an F cab on it at least. No fm radio sucks when your stuck in there all day and the only other thing you have to listen to is truck drivers.

Just got back in from buttoning everything back up(as far as I know). I got the grill on about 4 hours ago and swore that I would drive it to work tomorrow, no matter what. Every time I would get ready to pull it out, I would remember some little thing I needed to do. You know, bleed the brakes, tighten the lugnuts, little stuff like that.

I finally do a couple laps around it, can't think of anything else, so I jump in it to pull it out into the fresh air. Turns out my clutch rusted together from being steamed-cleaned. I couldn't get it loose, and didn't have anyone to push the clutch while I beat around on it to try.

I feel terrible for my 1st gear synchros...

I know, right?

I thought about trying to run it outside on the starter and getting buck wild on it to break it free, but I'll just wait until tomorrow. I don't have enough beer to start an operation like that right now anyways.

Start it, let it get warm. Shut it off, put it in 1st. Start truck. Drive with the clutch in until it pops loose. Just whomp on it a few times in different gears, it'll loosen up. ;)
