I think so, I've only been there twice.

I've got to find a dyno to get on soon. Judging my trucks performance by making it actually move is too hard on it.

Levi, you didn't jam the cam in did you? Either the new or the old one? I was just wondering about the cam plug in the back of the block, they leak sometimes.
Did you tighten the rear valve cover?

Well, the cam seemed a bit too long, so I did beat on it a little to get it in. Turns out the gear wasn't pressed on far enough, but a 9lb sledge got it settled in alright.

I actually didn't jam the cam in, but that is a good idea to check for. Dunno how in the hell I'm going to get back there to see it, but I'll check it out. The VCs are tight, and I made sure the gaskets were seated right around the nuts. I've also got a leak between my vacuum pump and power steering pump. Oil is seeping out around the whole circumference of that spot, but I'll check The Sticky on the rebuild and see what I can see there. My primary drain is leaking, still, and my front seal is definitely leaking.

I also bumped my timing to the end of the slots tonight. Can't say I like it to be honest. :?

I'm not noticing any better performance up top, but my turbos are definitely not getting what they did before. I could make the S400 sing by just getting on it a little bit, but now I have to be prepared to go uncomfortably fast to get any sound out of it.

It did kill the new found haze my new inlet setup has given me, but it's not worth the drawbacks so far.

my truck loved more timing after the cam, and I totally agree with this...

The exhaust sounds like it's coming from a much bigger engine. It's almost got a drone quality when you're driving around, but it's not really annoying. It's like it's hooked to a 12 liter or something, just a real semi-sound it has now. Well, that's in the cab, who knows what it sounds like outside

BTW totally havnt been on 1stgen in a while :? and I missed your break in comment, did you end up doing anything special to break it in? hope you atleast used the break in lube...

nice to see that its back together 8)

Yeah, I put 2 bottles of the break in stuff in and ran it at 1500 rpm for a minute once it got oil pressure. (and got fuel, that part is kind of hard when you leave every connection loose on your inlet piping)

I turned my fuel screw down a full turn while I was at work today. I'm trying to get this damn smoke in check, but it's still just uncalled for. I realize my inlet piping was plugged up, but to go from a drivable truck to a truck that I have to hawk-eye the throttle at all times, even with the AFC as tight as it can possibly be, just sucks...

With the cam and head, it has a lot more pep when taking off. As in, if you just blip the throttle with no boost built, the truck jumps forward a lot harder than it used to. However, until I get this smoke reigned in and find out what's holding it back boost-wise(either my 'gates or the cowbell), I just won't be satisfied. :/

Also, good to see you back, Alex. Where have you been?

I'm sorry this took so long, but I just pulled one of them off last night to wire them up. The bigger of the two has the Ford number: 1F1H-8C607-AA. That seems to translate to an 01 Taurus, passenger side, though I can't find what specific engine. I believe the smaller has the same number, but with "BB" at the end.

If you mean just throwing an air-to-air on it, I didn't want to cut up my non-IC'd grill to fit it in there. If you're asking why I don't have an IC on it at all, then there's a layout of my water-to-air setup at the bottom of page 15.

Cutting the grill doesn't seem like a big deal now, but I always seem to mess up on the cosmetic things that everyone can see.

D-tech 62/65/12 and the 171702 S475.

My hotpipe just spit out it's packing I had stuffed in the clamp to seal up it's small leaks. I find it odd that there's that much pressure in that spot. :?

I'm gonna redo the packing and give it another shot, but if it happens again I'll have to see if I left a shop rag or something in the primary exhaust housing.
