Hey! What are you doing with the Trojan 2000?

I'd leave the pipe long, and maybe paint it black so it doesn't show if you think it looks bad.

Yup, Outlaw 2's. 16x8.

We use the Trojan whenever we need our eardrums destroyed, it's got an old straight piped 6v53. It's really just to use when dad wants to have fun, I think. We pushed a tree over in the yard with it last summer, that's the last time it was ran that I remember. We're spoiled with our 980 Cats at work.

So, I'm getting around 77ft2 for the floor, roof, back wall, and the inner door panel(s). I would think 100ft.2 would be a decently safe number to use to get complete coverage of a regular cab.

After a long night of sleeping and a couple of minutes of thinking this morning, I figure I toasted my voltage regulator while I was welding. I didn't bother to unplug the negative cable since, you know, there's nothing on a mechanical truck that a welder can hurt, right?

Take it from me, kids. Unhook your battery when you weld, even if it's on a Model T.

So, the plot thickens yet again.

I popped my hood today when I noticed my boost wasn't quite climbing to 50psi when I gave it a nice run on the way home from work today. My hotpipe has once again started leaking at the V-band, even with RTV, foil, and fireplace door sealer stuffed in there. I even had the clamp double-nutted to keep it from backing off.

It seems as though this truck is going to force me to work on it whether I want to or not, so I'm gonna take the S400 off tomorrow after work and see what's up. :grrr:

I should have left it stock.

Meh, it's got a brace. It supports it's weight vertically, but I didn't brace it too much so the turbo could still flex side to side if the flanges weren't perfect.

I'll try to go back and find a pic of it.

Found some! It's 1" bar stock heated and bent, then I've got 1/2" strap welded to it that comes over and bolts to the top of the turbo. It's bolted to the two small boltholes on the motor mount that the trans cooler used to bolt to. I bent the bar 90* and ran it under the strap for about 5", it's welded the full length that it's under there. I'll sniff through my photobucket and see if there's a better pic I never put up.

It may be that when you get on it, you develop a boost/exhaust leak.

I found the pics, Oldest. ^

Those were when it was just tacked together.

I need to put a system pressurizer on it, I just haven't done it yet. I'll get on it this week, but no matter what happens I'm gonna have to address this damn V-band flange.

Well, as you can see there's nothing visibly wrong with the turbine side of the turbo. No shop rags to be found anywhere, either. I took the opportunity to file both V-band surfaces flat, so I'll try to get it back together tomorrow night and throw some shop air on it to test for leaks.

Levi, your truck is the sole reason I have yet to attempt twins, besides the having no time and being broke thing, but anyways, pressure test that son of a gun allready!!!

Awww man, don't tell me that. The only reason I haven't figured it out is because I just don't care at this point. I'd just rather be driving it right now, you know? The truck runs better than it did before, so it's just not that high of a priority to figure it out.

I sawed off a section of straight 4" and found some solid 4" barstock at work I can weld to it and drill/tap for an air fitting. I'll try to get it made tomorrow after (during) work. 8)

It's back together, so I'll be driving it to work tomorrow.
