H1E Marine Turbo

Postby 75Dodge » Mon Dec 08, 2008 5:05 pm

I have two H1E marine turbos. An extra H1C from a 1984 commercial motor. And an HX40W with a broken shaft and compressor wheel. I was wondering if I could make a suitable hybrid turbo from these parts. Or maybe i could sell them. The first three are in good shape. Little to no play, freespinning, and they don't make noise. The last one obviously suffers from a compression problem. What do you guys think?

You should be able to put the compressor and backing plate form teh H1EM on the H1C. The H1EM (marine) and the HX40 MAYBE... depending on how the copressor si held to teh center section. Start taking them apart. All the H1EM's I have seen have a funny exhaust housing and flange though.... Start taking things aprat and putting them together! Also I thing teh H1EM's have a smaller compressor housing. Try it... we will never know till you do! Alot of people on here told me I was wasting my time trying to hybrid my H1C and My H1E together... Seems to work REAL well for me.

Put it all together a couple of days ago. WORKS GREAT! I can't believe it. Took me a couple of hours to clean it up and put it together. Then another hour to get it on there.

Good power and I think I am getting a bit more mileage. :-) This is a great upgrade.
