Shaft on Fan Hub Bearing Ass'y

Shaft for fan hub bearing assembly : how can I describe it...the shaft that the fan screws to i guess..the whole bearing unit is servicable and I wonder if one of you parts gurus can hook me up with a part# for the shaft that I can call a dealer with....

I guess its called the hub spindle, one of my buddies found it for me at dodge for $520!!!! guess I'm looking for a used one...

Isnt the bearing held onto the asembly by a bolt and bushing?

$520 sounds about like what Mopar wanted for the entire assembly 4 years ago. I see one on ebay now and then. The bearing alone from Cummins was $120 4 years ago.

Yeah, hub bolts in from the back and you have to carefully press the bearing out.

Cummins Mid-South sold me one for a 01 3500 for 200 a month ago.

This is good information because mine needs to be replaced. So there are two bearings in this hub? Are there any tricks to getting the old ones out and the new one in?

parts break down that i seen only showed one bearing an id guess that it had 2 sets of roller bearings in it. but at the price of 120 for a bearing it should at least come with a new fan clutch or something

Long bolt that runs between the fan hub retainer, through the bearing into the fan hub- 3911662 (M10 x 1.50 x 60)


Fan hub- 3911661


Fan hub retainer- 3923044


Fan pulley- 3917674


Fan pulley retaining bolts- 3911668 (M6 x 1.00 x 10)


Fan support (cast piece)- 3923005 (page also shows an alternate number 3923004, though might be for a different app?)

It is a single wide bearing. Make sure to get some synthetic grease. Remove one of the dust covers with a pick and put more grease in the bearing, then reinstall the cover. Not much in there at all. I got 5 more shots of grease in mine.
