Lift Question

Postby ramtough1993 » Thu Apr 12, 2012 9:57 am

I was looking at putting a little lift on my truck to make it look proportionate with the roll bar and all. My plan was to by a kit with 2 inch blocks for the back and and add a leaf that will give me 2 inches in the front. Will this affect my steering components and drive shafts? or will I be safe as far as that goes?

It will most likely effect your steering. The draglinks on these trucks are not adjustable so you would most likely have to buy an adjustable draglink.

Your truck has about a 3" block in it from the factory. Stacking blocks is dangerous and a terrible idea. You could put a 5-6" block in it, or go with drop shackles from jungle, an add a leaf, or a rear lift spring.

Okay that doesn't sound so bad i just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't have to get all new driveshafts and other components because that could get costly but an adjustable drag link doesn't sound that bad.

Now the 5-6 inch blocks do they make such a thing or would that be something to go to a local fab shop for?

5-6'' blocks were stock in the 92-93 years i believe. They are available in the aftermarket aswell.
