Resurrection of the dodges paint And back to stock power

So this all happened last year and I found it after that freakish ice storm crap we had. Apparently water had been sitting under the paint and when it froze it busted the bubble that was there.

And I've been battling this schit since I've owned it.




This will be either an epic failure or a deserved refinish for a hard working mule. Either way this is the last damn time I mess with the paint on this truck

Went ahead and decided to kill the power some more.....plus I need the thing where it's not slowly killing itself. I owned this truck for 10 years before having any issues and since I've messed with it I keep having problems. Mostly small stuff...several ujoints,head gasket,clutch....I'm tired of it. It's going back working class. Stock low mileage pump,lightly ground pin,hungry diesel afc spring/12psi hplp spring (no mo clicking reg). Also throwing in a new old stock cummins pump gear(had some issues with the old one walking on the pump shaft) timed back stock. No more high timing,just the 1/8 bump.

Experienced the same thing when I bought a N.O.S. 205 pump....gutless wonder compared to my worn out 114 pump. Had to screw the fuel screw in quite a ways just to get the darn thing to fire, then was still a turd after a lot of tuning.

My Dodge must have had a special blessing on it. The closest thing I had to driveline trouble was a ballooned quarter million mile converter. I had every fluid except gear oil leaking, but nothing major. Ever.

Whatever was phucked up in the pump straightened out and now it's sending fuel. Still slobbering diesel tho,I've got another but I swear I don't want to mess with another used pos pump. Guess I'm going to "reseal" it.....non intercooled pump.

Wonder what kind of hell I'll find swapping delivery valves out between I/c and non i/c pumps?

There really isn't much going on with the delivery valves, just the holder, the valve assembly, a spring, sometimes a shim and a copper crush washer against the head. Pretty easy to swap, just really small parts.

In my limited experience, yes. I'm about ready to do a rebuild on two pumps, a 205 and a 114 . I'll be doing side by side comparisons on certain important parts, I've heard that there is a definitive reason why the 103/114 pumps fuel a little harder at first than the 184/205's, and I want to see for myself.
