2WD - rust around the front hardware

Postby thechoochlyman » Fri May 04, 2012 7:11 pm

First of all, here is my driver's side.... uh, spring housing place. Not sure what the proper name is. I do not fancy the idea of this crap coming loose one day driving down the road. I have been wondering about swapping in a solid front axle with leaf springs.

That rust has had me worried for quite a while. It looks as if it would probably just break apart if I ever wanted to disassemble it for any reason.

That doesn't look too bad to me. Just heavy surface rust. Here in the great salty north, mine looks worse than that.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.
