Alignment problems after replacing balljoints

Postby Ol_blue88 » Sun Apr 22, 2012 9:53 pm

I have a 88 w100 that I just replaced the ball joints in. I used quality moog parts and torqued everything to specs (i used the sleeves that came with the joints and torqued them to the proper preload). The problem is now my the truck is pulling hard to the left. Is it normal to throw the alignment that far out by replacing just the balljoints

if the ball joints where done right and the adjusters where put back in right it should be pretty close in alignment. Most shops when you go in for a alignment now a days just set the toe( which would be out if you replaced a tie rode or links). Its hard to find a shop that knows how to do a full alignment on a stright axle

I torqued the new adjusting sleeves to 40ft lbs per my haynes manual. Is it possible I messed somthing up when I disconnected the drag link

the best possible explanation i can come up with is at some time it may have been aligned around bad suspension parts.
Align it.
