seats swapped...again

well, after buying 2nd gen seats, and being unhappy with them, both in comfort and in mounting, i went back to caravan seats. i think they match the interior better, and hold you better with the side bolsters.

this time i had more time to figure out the mounting, and more room at my disposal to actually do the project, so they are mounted much better. sooooo much more comfy than the bench (and the second gen seat, i think)

now i have to find a console to fit it. i was thinking about maybe a suburban console. or maybe a ramcharger console. anyone have the dimensions for a first gen/ramcharger console handy???

First gen console is roughly 14" wide, 21" long and 12" high.

FYI, the '94-97 seats are FAR more comfortable than the '98-02 seats. HATE the ones in my '99. Loved the ones in my '97.

its kind of hard to see, but basically it is angle iron welded to the front and back of the mounts that came off of the bench seat. then the seat rails were bolted to the angle iron. works pretty good if you ask me. (dont mind the wrapper. i like reeses )

put the same van seats in mine and i love them. the set of second gen seats I had barely let the doors close

Same here. I didn't like them at all. These fit really nice. And I think they match up pretty good. How did you mount yours up? Pretty much the same way? I kept the center console from the second gen seats and put them between the caravan seats and it fits perfect. Looks nice too

Id post a pic here but I'm on my phone at the moment. we made a bracket thatt sat them up a bit higher so I can see over the steering wheel lol but they did turn out nice. I put the original consol back in,, which I'm sure ill regret later when I can't use those tiny cup holders

they stayed comfortable for the entire trip

and yeah, i asked if he would drop that off for you. lol. i didn't want to bring it back home. sucked you missed the meet. maybe next time. you gonna try to make it to SOP?

SOP no. My wife will just have had a baby then. Next event is Michael's next year.

yeah, i was thinking about making it out to sop, but i think i have decided to tear the truck down and start the rebuild. so maybe waiting for micheals next year
