Bilsteins are stiffer than Ranchos, by a long shot (Bilstein OEM version vs Rancho 5000 series). The Bilsteins are stiff enough, you almost need a 2nd person to help put them in a 2nd gen. lol
Rancho gives good ride control, and not overly still. We'll see how they hold up.
Monroe shocks on a big truck do a decent job, but if you have nasty roads like we do here, I didn't get over 50k miles out of a set before they started leaking fluid.

Put Gabriel gas shocks on the 82 F250 I used to have. Really liked them.
