Did it move under it's own power? I thought the rear end was bad?
That front tire brings back memories, that's what Jake had on the plow trucks back when I started, Looked good but harder than hell!

Drove it the 10+ miles home, all gravel. One of the front hubs needs going through, but the rest of the drivetrain is ok. Weird going from a Getrag truck to a 727 slush-o-matic :-|

That's cool! Glad you got it back, it will give you something to do during the winter.

I got a $400 budget as of now, so I am hoping that I can get it road worthy for that or less. I still have the 17's from my 92, so it will have some rubber under it. Anything is better than the 20something year old 16.5 rubber it has on it now

I got some parts left over from my 92, but most of the things needed are drivetrain pieces, u-joints, seals, etc. Needs a thorough pressure washing. Oh well, it will be a winter project I guess...

Feast your eyes on the "DIY hood stack" thread on CumminsForum. That sthi doesn't seem to fly here and boy I'm glad. Or the if you don't have 1000 posts, you're not credible show on DTR. Or the largely dead 1st gen section on CompD. I like this site because with the exception of a few, I've met all the regulars in real life.

And I made my first meme. No biggie, I'm just on the cutting edge

I browse the others from time to time, too many DA's for me. No worried much about keeping up with the newest plug-in 6 bazillion HP mod that some flat biller has now either. Those folks compare sizes of peepee's to much, and level out on telling people they're stupid for asking questions. Hey...I'm sure their collective a55es didn't know at one time so why dump on somebody else.

The "Stacks or no?", "Which rims?", and "So and so's 500 hp build thread" are taxing to wade through. THIS IS 1STGEN! (parody of CompD's mantra  )

Here are a few pics of the big pile...

Thoroughly destroyed interior :(

No floor at all on the drivers side, the passenger side is pretty decent, go figure

Grille is actually in decent shape...

3.07's with LSD? I hope so!
Image

Dug into it a little tonight, turned it around and backed it on the concrete pad, didn't really want to move much in reverse. Got the crap tires and wheels off it and got it up on some tall jack stands. The rear diff has "chocolate milk" in it...hooray. Tore the front hubs off it, left outer wheel bearing might be smoked, the others look ok. Going to run the lock outs and the bearings through the parts washer at work tomorrow. Every part of the steering is shot, except for the shaft that goes between the gear and the column, its a Borgeson unit I put on back in '04, and it's still in good shape. I swear that this truck has 100 or more scotch locks in it! They are everywhere! Told the woman that all I want for xmas is a FSM and the diesel supplemental manual, probably going to have to re-wire 70% or more of this thing. Oh well, it will keep me busy this winter ;)

Kinda funny how the grill looks good on it, when another trucks grill that was well cared for will be cracked every time
