What is this diff anyways? 70? 71? 70U? 70-2U?

All I know is that it has 32 spline axle shafts...

3.07 is a Dana 71. I believe all bearings and such are the same as a 70U.

DF, I bought an extra set of bearings and started to open 1 up with a die grinder. I very quickly said Fock it! and took it to my buddies machine shop. He put them on his rod resizing machine and opened them up quick. Nice and even and smooth too.
I was told the same thing Ellis said about bearings, be careful of the thickness of the inner race!

Ike, put in new bearings, a clutch kit, and set of shims and go for it! Make sure you look at the cups the side gears ride in, I had a cracked one. Set up was a bitch, I had to use a spreader to get the carrier in and out. I did it in the truck too, with the RC fuel tank right there in the way.

You wouldn't believe me when I told you that before!
So who eats crow now? Apology accepted!

Ike, I have a nice tight DRW 3.07 axle here, if a carrier and gears is needed.
The red/white 1 ton's going bye bye. In a manner of speaking, that is.

Mark.
